I LOVE LOVE LOVE Cuban Pete's.  The food is fantastic, service is good (but they do get busy).  My fiance and best friend are both latinos (both Puerto Rican) and they both love the food there as well.  The decor is cuban influenced, obviously, but I wouldn't have a fancy event there.  Were you thinking of going there for your rehearsal dinner?  Or just going there for dinner?  If you like Cuban food - I recommend!

Just for dinner, but if we like it, it's very close to our venue so a rehearsal dinner wouldn't be out of the question.  We're not looking for anything fancy for our rehearsal dinner (which is over a year away anyway, so we have plenty of time) and FI and his family are Latino as well, so maybe it could work.  Fancy places don't go over too well with my family (or his, for that matter)... we're that loud and obnoxious group that gets the stares from everyone else in the restaurant... haha.

I only started looking at it because I heard about their sangria bar and I LOVE ME SOME SANGRIA!  :-)

I went and I was underwhlemed.  It is always SO packed in there. The tables are so close together you can't move  or put your bag down. I went on a Wednesday night at like 9:00 and the whole place was packed.  The music was super loud and we couldn't even talk across the table.  Also, I heard great things about the sangria it's BYOB though so you have to bring your own wine to mix. They didn't mix it for us and in a huge pitcher there was only enough room to put less than a half bottle of wine. It was good though, but not even close to the strength of real Sangria. The food was okay nothing amazing.

Oh my god!  I'm so glad you told me about the BYOB (or BYOW in this case)!  That definitely makes a difference.

I'll probably still stop by just to see if it's a restaurant FI and I like in general.  Thanks for the info!

Their Sangria is fantastic but keep in mind they do not have a liquor license so you have to bring your own.

Definitely go and check it out.  Now you're making me craze it!!!  LOL!!!

we were actually just there last night...we had a party of 15 and had 4pm reservations.  But the line to get in was out the door.  Also parking is HORRIBLE! I guess the snow didnt help b/c it covered a bunch of spots.

Its BYOB/W - So this will prob make it more affordable then most places.  They did mix our wine in our sangria...we brought our own bday cakes so we didnt have dessert there.

The food was good - Cuba Libre in AC is better :) but for a closer place, than its fine.

You leave there SMELLING like the food. So depending on your hairdresser wants you to wash your hair - so she can style it - you may have to go early!  I had to drop our clothes off this morning at the dry cleaners cuz we stunk!

The place is very loud and when its your bday they bring out drums and sing to you.  I was w/ my husband's family (puerto rican) and everyone enjoyed their food and drinks...

might be a lil too crazy for a rehearsal dinner IMO...
