Nevada-Las Vegas

April or May????

Hi Ladies,

My FI and I just decided on a Vegas wedding.  So far we are looking at MB Valley of the Falls for April 2012.  However, I have heard that April can get kinda windy and with the ceremony being outside that wouldn't be good.  Do you ladies think May would be better?

Also as far as ceremony times go, I am torn between 3pm and 5pm.  I definitely want to do all photos after the ceremony with a strip tour.  My question is which time would be best considering there's only going to be about 6 guests and we plan to just go out to a nice dinner after the strip tour.

Thanks in advance!!!!

May has risk of heat, April has risk of wind.  Choose the lesser of two evils.  Or split it and do late April/early May.  :)

I would go with 3 pm in your situation, unless you and guests prefer a later dinner.

What do you want lighting to be like during photos?  Photogs typically recommend ceremony starting 1 hour before the "official" sunset if you want sunset lighting in photos.

I would actually check with MB first; I'm willing to bet that all of the 3 and 5pm VoTF slots for April/May 2012 are already taken.  Maybe try to keep an open mind re: timing and base it on their availability?

I only say that because I booked my May 2012 VoTF wedding back in February of this year and both of the slots I wanted were already taken at that point...

You ladies have given me a lot of great things to take in to consideration.  Thanks!!!!

Luckily I emailed them today and for April 14, 2012 and she told me that 11am,  1pm, and 3pm are still alll available.  I was shocked as well so I really need to make up my mind.  Like TODAY!!!!

What time is your ceremony in May?

Go with 3pm 4/14/12.  Were all their May dates booked?  If you do May, go later in the day so it's not as hot.

We are doing 7 pm 4/23/12.  I come from a rainy area so I'll take a little wind anyday as long as its somewhat warm! ;)

When people talk about Vegas being windy, they're not just referring to a slight breeze. We were out there the week before the wedding and I have never experienced wind like that. I was freaking out a bit because there's no way we could have had our ceremony outside in that kind of wind. Luckily it died down for the weekend. ETA - starryeyed, where in WA are you from? I grew up in WA so I know what you mean about rainy weather...

We're 3pm on 5/19/12.  I wanted 5 or 7pm but had to settle.  No bigs, it's 15 minutes anyway and afterwards we'll all cool off with some refreshing (alcoholic) bevs. ;)

We married in April this year. We were in Vegas for a week and 5 out of the 7 days were really nice and warm, then our wedding day was cloudy and windy. It was the windiest day in Vegas for 70 years apparently. You just can't predict it! x

Yeah, you definitely can't predict it!  Our wedding was on 5/6 and it was the hottest day of the season so far, 96 degrees...
