Creations Bakery & Maggiano's

Hi Ladies,I'm wondering who has used Creations bakery for their cake? I just found out today that Freed's is no longer one of Maggiano's preferred vendors so I guess I'll have to get a quote from Creations instead. Also, how far in advance did you order your cake? Thanks!

When did that happen? I talked to Cassy about 2-3 weeks ago and she still said that the cake would count toward our room minimum, but maybe that's because we booked a while ago. I ordered mine last year when we decided which one we wanted. Good luck!

I've booked Maggianos for my reception as well back in September. I was told when booking that Creations bakery was their 'preferred vendor', Freeds bakery was not mentioned to me. Cassy/Marc did say that I could bring in a cake from another vendor and they would credit me $4 per person since the cake that would be included in my menu choice wasnt being used.Hope this helps!

I found an email from Cassy in April of this year where she mentioned that their preferred cake vendors were Creations and Freed's so I emailed her tonight asking when they changed that and would they honor what they originally told me?Because I'm not impressed with the cake photos on Creations' website. But I may just say screw them both and go with LV Cake Designs since it seems EVERYONE on here highly recommends them!

I used Creations Bakery for my cake and loved them!  Granted, my cake is not exactly traditional, but Susie was great to work with when we were designing our cake.  I gave here several pictures of what I wanted and she created the exact cake we had envisioned.  The cake tasted amazing too, very moist and tasty.  Our guests raved about the flavor and uniqueness of our cake.  We loved it!

We are using Creations Bakery as well! We ordered back in June for our April 2010 wedding...We did our tasting and it was super tasty. Were doing red velvet w/ cream cheese mousse, chocolate w/ raspberry mousse and white princess w/ bavarian cream and fresh raspberries. Were doing a sort of complicated design and I was kinda worried if they could pull it off but the lady there was great and seemed to get our cake (were doing a corpse bride cake) she's even updating the design so it fits our color scheme better! Also, I approached her at a Bridal Show and I wasn't expecting her to remember me since she deals with so many brides I'm sure....but she knew my first and last name :)

we thought about creations, but decided to go with cake designs since there were such rave reviews about it, and i fell in love with one of the cakes i saw on their website.  we booked with them about 1.5 months in advance.  maggiano's is deducting 4 bucks a person since we're going with an "outside" vendor.

If you're not using Maggiano's preferred vendor for your cake consider using the Special Occasion package as opposed to the wedding package.  It is the exact same thing and is $8pp cheaper.  We used that money to upgrade food and bar and it was completely worth it!!

I also had some issues with Freeds bakery and didnt like the looks of the cakes from Creations, I ended up with that same opinion, screw it and begun to look at other bakeries, I've been in talks with Dawn at Cake Designs LV and she has been extremely helpful.

hey girls! i am also using maggianos...but i am confused when u say that they credit u $4 a person if u DONT use their cake vendor...so if u do use their cake vendor what is the perk....u still pay for the cake righ?!?!?!?!?!?

if you get one of the wedding packages that includes the cake, you have to use the preferred vendor. if you don't use the preferred vendor you get a credit of $4pp off the pkg price, but then you still have to pay for the cake separately. that is why i suggested the special occasion pkg rather than the wedding pkg. it is $8pp cheaper for the same thing, therefore more allowance for cake and/or menu/bar upgrades.

Hello ladies, I just booked Freeds this week, and Jayme said that she would send a contract to Maggiano's for my reception cake. Maggiano's didn't say anything about Freeds not being a preferred vendor anymore. Maggiano's recommended Freed's to me.

Cassie replied to me and confirmed that they only are using Creations now as their preferred bakery. When I explained that she told me in April that I could use either, she said "she can't remember all who she told what to, but she will honor it if I want to use Freeds". I think I'm just going to send an email to all 3 of the bakeries with a picture of the cake I want and see who comes up with the best price/quality and go from there! But I'm going to wait awhile before worrying about the cake now. FYI - We're creating our own pkg at Maggiano's starting with the Family Style Dinner, adding a host bar, and bringing in our own cake. The only reason I would need to use Creations bakery is if I couldn't meet the $3000 minimum for the room. (If I use Creations bakery for the cake, it will go towards our room minimum.)
