Avery's Angels was created as a support group for families and children born with Gastroschisis (where the intestines form outside of the abdominals). The creator, one of my childhood friends, actually had a little boy, Avery, born with Gastroschisis last year in April. Avery passed away on July 30, 2009 from complications. This effects one in every 2500 babies in North Carolina, which is why it's so important to vote! The odds are really that you probaby know someone who has been affected!
