David's Bridal question

I asked this question in response to a post on another board and never got an answer, so I thought I'd try it here... you girls are much more responsive

I have never been to a David's Bridal - is it like other bridal shops where you have to order your dresses, or do they have dresses you can get off the rack?  I'm looking for a dress for the RD and don't know where to go. I saw some on their website that are really cute that I thought I would try out.

Plus my MOH and I have to go there anyway to check out the removable sashes for FG dresses. So two birds with one stone...

I bought my dress at David's and I did have to order it. I ordered it last February and it was in by April. I don't think BM dresses take as long, though. My BM ordered theirs online from David's and they were shipped out within the week.

I got my dress at David's and I didn't have to order it. I bought off the rack. I did that for the simple reason that the one I tried on fit just right, and didn't want to risk ordering one that may need a lot of alteration. I also bought a dress there to take on the HM and bought the one I tried on that day.

i got my wedding dress at davids and my rehersal dress at davids. i was lucky enough to not have to order either of them alot of there dresses they have online though they do not carry in stores so check that out to.

I've never purchased a dress from DB, but I have been in there and you can buy dresses off the rack. Not all of the dresses are available, but there are some. I'd definitely recommend checking it out. You can also order online if needed.

You can do either or.  If there's a dress that you want and they have it in your size and color then you can purchase it off the rack. If it's a clearance item I don't think you can order it unless it's an online order.  I would say buying off the rack is fine unless it's your actual wedding dress.  People try on those dresses all the time and they get a lot of wear.  I was amazed how much brighter and cleaner my dress looked when it came in after I ordered it, opposed to the one I tried on.

you can def buy off the rack if they have it in stock! which shouldnt be a problem now since prom season hasnt started yet

My RD dress is from DB but I had to order it.

I also bought my dress off the rack at David's Bridal.  It's funny, they didn't even mention the option of ordering one to me, in retrospect it would have been nice to choose. However, my dress fits great, and my seamstress is steaming it for me.

I didn't buy my dress at DB, but that's where my BM dresses came from. Ordering anything from the store directly tends to take FOREVER, and I've had issues with them not calling when a dress comes in. That being said, if the dress you know you need is available online I'd reccomend buying it that way because it comes in so much faster. One of my BM ordered hers last week and got it yesterday.
