It's been a lifesaver....

that I numbered the backs of the RSVP cards to correspond with our numbered guest list!! My mom is having a hard time reading people's handwriting! So, just a quick piece of advice to those who have yet to send out invites - Don't forget to number the backs of the RSVP cards!!! :)

Ha! I so didn't do this, but so far everyone's filled it out.

My biggest issue is that people didn't initial for their meal choice, so if there are 2 people I don't know who gets what and people don't put their guests name done just "Ms. Baxter and Guest" come on people!

I did notice that the people who have gotten married recently filled it out correctly!

One more question, are you putting couples on the same escort cards, or for those that you know their name giving them their own?

So what are you going to do to differentiate?

I'm having the same problem (initialing meal choice.)  If it's a couple I'm just splitting them because they will be sitting next to each other at dinner anyways.  If it's a family I am giving them a call/e-mailing them.

It's funny you brought this up.  A girl on my monthly board just said someone mailed back a blank RSVP card.  Without their name or meal choice.  At least the person put a return address on it though.

I'm actually going to have one escort card per couple /family (I know this may be a huge no-no but I dont care! lol) and will put their dinner choices on the card somehow (perhaps a small image of fish/pig? or maybe a different color rhinestone or something - haven't gotten this far yet) and they can sort it out amongst eachother when the dinners are delivered to their tables...

I'm like 10 hours too late to this thread, but that's what I did, exactly.  People didn't initial their food choices, so I just put couple/families on the same card and put different rhinestones on the back to establish how many of each meal per family.  It seemed to work fine-- or at least I didn't get any complaints.

GAH! Numbering response cards was the best thing I did for the wedding, seriously! Same went for my baby sister! So many people responded but forgot to mark their names or sent the card back completely blank. Thank goodness they were numbered with a master list!!!!!

I've never thought of this, but you are right...this would be a total lifesaver!
