Maggiano's - Reception dinner

Does anybody here booked or will book dinner at Maggiano's? 

My wedding will be very small so I just made a reservation at Maggiano's for a dinner with my husband and the guests (which will probably be only 5 or 6 people) in the main dinning room. I wanted to know if you guys are buying (or bought) the cake from an outside vendor and which vendor it is. Also I wanted to know if your guests will choose whatever they want from the menu or if you set up a menu for them to choose? 

It may be a silly question but I have no experience doing this and I am a little lost. My guests will travel across the country to go to my wedding and I don't want to make mistakes and being rude with them!!

Also, another question I have is, the ones that are booking having reception at a buffet like Caesar's, Cosmopolitan, etc .. did you book a private room? The only buffet I've been in Vegas is at Luxor but I cannot see me taking my guests there to celebrate my wedding ....

You might want to check because I think that Maggianos has a private wine cellar like room that holds less than 15 if you want something private. We are having about 45 and I have booked the Calabria and DiCarlo rooms so slightly different situation but I am bringing in an outside vendor for cake. I am probably going with Gimme some Sugar. Prices are great and good reviews. They do a lot if cakes for stars parties.

The room Sunni is talking about is the Barolo room. It can hold up to 16 people, no room minimum just a $100 event fee.

I'm sure they would help you and give advice on arranging a cake. This is the info I received on the Barolo room, the minimum I was quoted was $1,300. I wouldn't have met that with 12 guests so the restaurant may suit you better for 8 of you. "Each private space has a minimum, we ask that you meet this minimum in food, beverage and/or other services. If the minimum is not met, the difference will be charged as a room rental. A 20% Event Fee is added to the subtotal prior to tax of 8.1%. The Barolo room will seat 12 guests comfortably, 16 maximum. The Barolo room has 1 seating times available. 6pm to 8pm conclusion (or earlier). We would imply an event fee that is equal to $100 or 20% of the final bill whichever amount is greater. The deposit to secure the room is $100. No prob Sunni it's not that much info on here about it since most groups are larger.
Spoon, hmmm she told me it wasn't a minimum. Maybe they changed or maybe it's based on the time of year (wedding season vs off season).
OP, best bet is to call!! Maggianos is so good, glad we have one here at home.

Maybe some negotiation is required, just shows you! I was enquiring for 3rd July, might be a busy time.
