I just want to start by thanking everyone for their previous posts. I would not have made it through this destination wedding without y'all! I hope this helps others to come.
Venue – Platinum Hotel A+
For never seeing the venue until 2 days before you could imagine how nervous I could be. So once we got to actually see the venue I fell in love with it. The venue was on the 17th floor of the hotel. It is half inside and half on a terrace. The walls on the terrace are half glass so you can see the beautiful view at night. We decided to go with the upgraded chairs for the ceremony and reception. We had a total of 17 guests, so we decided to go with the long banquet table.
Food: The food we ordered was amazing, and we actually had a chance to eat. We did the buffet menu. We ordered:
Main Dish Selections:
-Triple Seared Beef Sirloin with Red Wine Demi Glaze
-Parmesan Crusted Chick with a Lemon Butter White Wine Sauce
-Sesame Stir Fried Shrimp with Miso, Garlic and Bok Choy

-Spinach Salad with Feta, Red Onion, Bacon, and Vinaigrette Dressing
Starch Selections:
-Roast Baby Red Potatoes with Garlic, Chive and Olive Oil
-Rustic Three Cheese au Gratin Potatoes
Vegetable Selection:
-Roasted Asparagus with Wild Mushroom, Olive Oil and Balsamic
Dessert Selection:
-Mini Crème Brulees, Apple Crisps and Chocolate Soufflé Cakes
-NY Cheesecake
Hors d'oeuvres Selections:
-Beef Satay with Kalbi Korean BBQ Sauce
-Mini Crab Cakes with a Spicy Remoulade
We did not have one complaint about any of it. We thought it was wonderful, and all our guests couldn’t stop talking about how great it was. It was a great turn out for never taste testing it before the reception. We also got the premium open bar for 4 hours. The mixed drinks and beer were not skimped on at all.
We had the ceremony out on the terrace, the reception inside and outside. We ate inside and then had our dance out on the terrace. They provided a dance floor, cocktail tables, regular tables and chairs out on the terrace.
We worked with Marie and Nicole through the event planning. They were great to work with and answered any questions or concerns I had.

We cannot say enough about how wonderful Mike and Courtney are!! Courtney answered all my emails within 5 minutes. Mike and Courtney are some of the nicest people we have met. They made us feel so comfortable and by the end of the trip we felt like we have known them forever. They showed up and immediately starting shooting photos. When I arrived at the venue Mike was there to tell us where to go and what was going on. We got them to shoot our wedding as well as a TTD at the Neon Boneyard. Mike and Courtney knew what pictures to take and when. Like I said earlier I cannot say enough about them and how great they are! I can’t wait to get our photos in.
Hair & Makeup: Francesca Lombardo A+
I booked Francesca to do mine and my MOH hair and makeup. Francesca is an amazing person. She is an expert at what she does. My MOH loved her look that Francesca created. She knew what would look best on both of us with our facial characteristics. I also booked Francesca to do my hair and makeup for my TTD shoot. My hair and makeup for both days were beautiful!
Cupcakes: Retro Bakery A
We decided to go with cupcakes instead of a cake. We did 48 mini cupcakes and two regular cupcakes with Mr. & Mrs. on them. We chose toasted coconut, red carpet, apple cider, and chocolate fountain. For the Mr. & Mrs. we chose cherry cheesecake & chocolate fountain. We also ordered a cupcake tower from them to display the cupcakes. My favorite cupcake was the toasted coconut and Chris’ was the apple cider. I would definitely use them again.
DJ: DJ Godzilla (Calvin) A++
Calvin is an awesome person! I can’t say enough about him as well. I was so indecisive when picking out my songs and he was very understanding. He knew exactly what to play and when. Calvin would contact me back within 5 minutes anytime I emailed him. He took whatever requests anyone asked for at the reception. You can tell he loves what he does.
Favors: Kustom Koozies A
We ordered these online as favors for our guests. They came out great and were delivered very fast. They were a great turn out with everyone.
LaPetiteFaveur (etsy) A
We also ordered fans for guests to have just in case it was too hot out on the terrace. They were straw fans with ribbon and our names & date on it. They turned out super cute. Kyrsten is great!
Flowers: Flowers of the Field A++
Robert with Flowers of the Field was great to work with. Whenever I was picking out which flowers I wanted he gave me tons of options. How much it would cost one way or another way. Once I finally picked he continued to stay in touch with me. He contacted to let me know that a certain color wouldn’t be present due to the weather. When I saw the flowers the day of my wedding I was breathless. I wish I could have kept them! I can’t wait to see my pictures of them.
Reverend: Roland August A++
Roland was great!! He made the ceremony. Everyone kept going on about how insightful he was and how he kept it so personal. There were serious parts, sweet parts, and funny parts. I know anyone would be more than pleased with Roland.
Props: loriii (etsy - mustaches & lips) A
I ordered these online after seeing some other brides using them. They were a hit. Everyone kept wearing them and taking photos. Every time I see them on someone I can’t stop laughing. They were a great quality.
Sash & Hair Jewelry: TwistedCrystals (etsy) A+
Something funny is I actually ordered this before I ordered my dress. Kacey is great at what she does. The sash made my outfit it was beautiful. I also ordered a hair flower from here with beads. This tied the whole outfit together.
Garter: HelloDesignCrew (etsy) A
I ordered a burnt orange garter for my FI because he is a huge Longhorn fan. I actually picked one of the ones on her site and asked it I could get it with burnt orange in it. It turned out great! Thanks Mary!
