Hi all. This is my 1st post on this board. After coming here a few days ago and reading the good advice, I needed some honest opinions.
My FI's aunt makes wedding cakes for relatives and pple she knows. She's NOT a cake maker by profession. She has already asked me if I've thought about what kind cake I wanted, twice. I just told her I'm still looking.
I wanted to have a true speciality 3 tier cake {top-cheesecake (our fave), middle-no sugar or low sugar (for the diabetic and/or hyper family members), bottom-cherry almond cake w buttercream icing}. My FI agreed and loves the idea.
The thing is I don't want his aunt to make my wedding cake. Because I KNOW she WON'T be able to this. My FI sis said she may not come to the wedding if she can't make the cake. I don't want to be rude and say "so what" because I want her to be there and that's my FI fave aunt.
I told him she could make his groom cake. I haven't mentioned to him but she could make a cake and we could box slices for guests to take home (maybe as favors). I'm going to let FI tell her what the cake plan is...
We will only be married once and I would love to have OUR day the way WE want it. Please tell me I am not wrong for thinking like this.
