Where in the World (is Carmen San Diego)?? PIP

Haha.  Kidding.

Really though, Where in the world have you all traveled?  What was your impression of those places?  Where would you never go again--why?  Where would you LOVE To go again-- why?  Where is your favorite place to vacation?  Where could you see yourself living?

Oh, and POST PICS of places you've traveled please!  :)

I have been daydreaming of Ireland lately.  I traveled to England/Scotland/Wales/Ireland about 3 years ago, and spent a full week of it in Ireland, just driving around and visiting places at will, with a very loose schedule.  It was amazing.  I have an 18 yr old neice who just went for a Senior trip, and a friend who will be heading over later this year, and so I just keep thinking of all the things I experienced there.  It was amazing.  It literally feels like you've walked into a fantasy story where elves and fairies are hiding in the trees.  Just an amazing experience.

Some pics from Ireland, etc.

Getting England pics out of the way first. That was beginning of the trip:
Eye of London

Obligatory phone booth photo.

Outside Blenheim Palace in Woodstock:

Train to Scotland..  Harry Potter scenery anyone?

Clanadonia performing in the streets of Glasgow.  That was one stinky picture to stand in.. But the music was awesome.  Very talented group.  :)

Beatle's Story, Liverpool, England:

Shakespeare's house-- Stratford Upon Avon:

Roal Dahl Plaza in Cardiff:

Blarney Castle, Ireland:

Random abandoned mini castle on the side of the road in Killarney natl park:

"Ladies View" spot in Killarney Natl Park.  Breathtaking:

Beach off the southwestern coast of Ireland:

Conor's Pass- the Scariest, Foggiest one-lane road I've ever been on:

Dingle, Ireland.  One of the coolest litlte towns, with great pubs and shops, and a century or more of history in it's back yard:

Crescent Beach, on Dingle Peninsula:

Massive Stone Circle at Lough Gur. Hardly visited, just off the side of the road:

Portal Dolmen at the Burren:

Cliffs of Moher in the Background:

Last, but not least, New Grange, just north of Dublin:

Man, I can't wait to go back.
OK.  Your turn to share!   Show me the world!  :))

Holy crap that was a lot of pictures. :)

I've never been outside of the U.S. Not even to Canada. So I'm no fun. I've only been to Florida, DC, New York, California, WI, MN, ND, Colorado... and that's it. Lameness.

When you love someone, you can tell. When you're in love with someone, everyone else can tell.

W/e.  Not lame.  Of the states you've listed, I've only been to NY, Cali and Colorado.  You should post pics if you have them.  :)  I want to see places in the world that I haven't seen, and that counts places in the US that I haven't been.  :)

And yes.. I know it was a lot of pics.  I can't help it.  That was me MAJORLY filtering too.  haha.  The folder those were saved in has about 3000 pics.  lol  I'm a camera whore. I just can't stop taking photos when I go places.

I'll come back with photos later.

Hope, you should come to Canada ;)

I've been to Alberta, BC, Quebec, New Brunswick and PEI in Canada.

I've been to Washington (D.C.), Virginia, NY, Maryland, Florida, Pennsylvania and Michigan in the US. I'm going to MA this year I think...

France, Italy, Monaco and Peru. I'm hoping to go to Portugal next year.

I actually didn't love France. I think I had really high expectations for it, and I just wasn't that fond of the people or the cities too much. It does really vary depending where you are though.

I really liked Italy and Monaco, but Peru was probably my favourite by far. That country is just filled with natural beauty and scenery.

I like travelling, but here is home.

Disney World is always a fantastic vacation.

I would love to go to Ireland. I think that will be my next over seas adventure. Although next week my FI is going to South Korea so that should be fun for him!

In the US, I have been to Florida, Maine, California, Washington, Alaska, Hawaii, Colorado, New Mexico, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York. Wow I didn't realize I had been to that many places until I started naming them. I don't have any pictures readily available or else I would share. Except for this one of FI in California.

Outside of the US, I have been to places in Mexico, Victoria Canada, Cayman Islands, Jamaica, Bahamas and France. Here are some pics for viewing pleasure.

In the Bahamas, where they filmed Pirates of the Caribean.

    While I was in Paris:

    We saw a street performer

    Pantheon

    Southern France:
Pont de Gard (I went on a study abroad trip for engineers so pardon all of the bridges)

    A castle

    Millau Viaduct

    A winery

Lord, my vacation pics are all over the place. I recently got my hard drive replaced at the Apple store, so technically there aren't a lot of pics on the computer, though my flickr/shutterfly accounts may have some. I've just been too lazy to transfer things from my external hard drive/storage thingy.

In US: Boston, NYC, Philly, DC, Richmond,VA (lived for a year), Charlotte, NC (lived in youth), All over South Carolina, Alabama (4 years in undergrad), All over Florida, Arkansas, several cities in California, Georgia (live here), Hawaii, Chicago, Illinois (mom's home town), Indiana (born there), VEGAS! Nevada, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee.

I didn't include layover or flyover states, or states I have just driven through or stopped for gas in.

Out of US: Scotland, England several times, France 3 or 4 times, Germany, Austria, Spain, Belgium (Belgian chocolate in Belgium is like crack), Amsterdam and various other cities in The Netherlands, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Saipan, Guam, Japan...

I think that's it. I wasn't really disappointed in any place I've visited. I've had different expectations for all of them. I guess the one place would be Madrid, Spain. Spain is gorgeous and I want to go back to Barcelona (Thanks a lot Woody Allen), but it was a lot more Americanized than I thought. lots of fast food chains and signs over the hotels in the city center that boil down to NO PROSTITUTION! Haha. It was good for a laugh, but not very picturesque.

Belgium, is absolutely old world gorgeous. I was surprised how much I liked it. Amsterdam was dirty (lots of trash on the street) but I was taking it all in. It is a city for the senses and I loved that aspect (Yes, I smoked. Yes, I went to the red light district. Yes, it was awesome). Munich, Germany was so far from what I was expecting. It is a very clean, very cosmopolitan city. Very, very chic and nice. visited a good friend who moved there about 4 years ago (she's in Berlin now and I'm hoping to pop over there to see her soon), so I got a local's perspective and it was awesome. I guess I was apprehensive because of, you know...Nazis. I gotta tell you, they've scrubbed it pretty clean. Best chocolate croissant I've ever had was in Munich.

I've been working as an internationl flight attendant for the last 8 months, so in the last 8 months I've been...just about everywhere!!! Except that I usually only stay 24 hours in any location... :/

    Amsterdam (red light district!!!)

    Bangkok, Thailand!

    Jakarta, Indonesia

Melbourne, Australia (very dog friendly, artsy city)

Was just in Entebbe, Uganda (Lake Victoria)

    Milan, Italy

Johannesburg, South Africa (where my boyfriend lives) Lion Park

AWing my boyfriend and his cute furry friend... :)

    Singapore
    Glasgow, Scotland

    Sydney, Australia

    London, England

    Kuala Lampur, Malaysia

Manila, Philippines (although I have been there a few times before I was working as a FA)

    Shanghai, China

I also went to Nigeria but it's too dangerous to leave the hotel room. =B

    Non-flight attendant vacays...

Current home, Dubai, UAE (world's tallest building at night)

San Francisco.. been here several times and once via my new job.

Spent a lot of time in Honolulu, HI...

Countless trips to Disneyland and LA...

    Costa Rica

Las Vegas (of course, many times.. mostly for party, sometimes for work, I used to do some freelance journalism)

    Puerto Rico

    New York (at the MET)

You can see I love seeing the animals... :P and still many more places to see!!!

Edit: Forgot to add that I visited Toronto several times (for family) but just don't have any pics lying around. I am planning a vacay with my girlfriends to Athens and Mykonos (we don't do layovers there) and Mauritius with my boyfriend (he works for an airline is SA), and hopefully a slew of new places in the next year for work.

WOW!  Just so you all know, I'm LOVING seeing all your posts-- both reading descriptions of places, and seeing the pics!  :)

Thejinx-- I'm SO envious of your thailand and indonesia trips.. those are 2 of the places in my top 5 "want to go".  And Costa Rica looks amazing too.  The more I hear about it, the more I want to go there too.

Sooo many cool places to see in the world.  I totally get all smitten and dreamy when I think about world travel.  :)  Le sigh..
