Wedding location!?

I have a budget of $15,000 and the venues I like or have liked thus far are $3000+ to rent the facility, not including catering or anything. The budget calculators on a few different websites tell me that I should spend about $1,200 on a venue. I want a nice, unique venue/location with an outdoor space for the ceremony but indoor for reception since I plan on having the wedding in October 2013 and can get chilly at night. Any suggestions on an affordable outdoor/indoor non-traditional venue?

    Where in CT are you looking?  About how many guests are you thinking about?  Are you open to a Friday/ Sunday wedding?

    Congrats on your engagement!! I have a tight budget as well and CT venues are super expensive. I'm getting married at the Colonial Tavern in Oxford, and there is an area for an outdoors ceremony. The inside is very rustic with exposed wood beams and fireplaces. There's an outdoor deck/patio, where they do weddings under a tent, or you can use the indoor room. 

    I'm paying 5400$ for the rental of the venue, open bar, buffet dinner w/carving stations, table linens, centerpieces, and ceremony. So the rest of my budget is going towards cake, entertainment, attire, gifts, and transportation. 

    I'm getting married in October of this year, this past October 6th it was 65 degrees at 5:30 pm and the sun set at 6:45...When you pick a date take down notes about that day and how the weather was, it made it so much easier to plan things for some reason!
