Im not having a destination wedding but we are getting married on the beach, in the sand. And now that my dress is in and i need to bring it for alterations, iv been thinking about shoes.
I want to go barefoot in the sand, so i asume i would need my dress hemmed to my feet. (right?), But then i need shoes for after the ceremony, I kind of wanted some kind of heel because i feel pretty in heals (as dumb as that sounds lol). But im worried that my dress will be to short if I get it hemmed so I can go bare foot at the ceremony,
So those of you getting married in the sand, what are you doing? What kind of shoes are you wearing after? Pics will be apperciated!!
Thanks girls!
Re: I feel like this is the best place to asks this question..
[QUOTE]Normally I'd want a heel too, but I opted to go for a pretty flat sandal... Is completely flat! I figured id not stress the shoes and just go for comfort on this setting! Plus it would absolutely drive me crazy if my dress was short with the heels on and there's no way to avoid that, that I can think of since leaving it a little long when you're barefoot but them you'd be stepping on it and ultimately would ruin the dress. I'll post a pic of my sandals when I can get on with my iPad. :)

This is what I plan on doing as well. My dress will be hemmed to the length I need in bare feet and then I will be buying some fancy roman-esque style sandals to wear after.
I am sure that you will feel gorgeous in your dress, so there is no need for heels IMO ;)
I decided to have my dressed hemmed to my sandals. As much as I wanted to wear heels for a short time at the reception it was most important to me that I didn't have to carry my dress down the aisle or risk tripping on it. It is really hard to walk in a wedding gown that is too long... it might also depend on your dress, but mine is pretty wide on the bottom and now that it's hemmed properly I can walk great.
I have 4 pairs of shoes! I'm using one pair of heels for pics only. I have sandals that I will used most of the time (walking at the resort, dancing etc), I have a pair of barefoot sandals for during the ceremony and I have a pair of heels to wear with my 2nd dress (shorter reception dress).
Not sure if that helps you any... but thought I'd share what I decided to do.
The day I married my best friend!
