Need Tarrytown area vendors. HELP!!!

Hi Knotties-   I am planning a very small destination wedding  for my daughter in the Tarryton area this December. Only about 50 people will be there but we want it elegant and upscale.  NEED HELP with vendors!
Has anyone had an event at Tarrytown House Estates or View on the Hudson?
How is the food?  Are they easy to deal with?  Would you recommend these venues to future brides?  Any problems that you may have heard about?
How about a reasonably priced local florist?  We want lots of flowers!!  Also, need a good event company for upscale linens and other rental items.
ANY info you want to share will be appreciated.
Thanks.

For a florist, we used Rubrum's in Ossining, which is about 10 minutes up the road from Tarrytown.
For linens, there is White Plains Linen, or you can try the online company bbjlinen.com

Thanks Kristin-   Do you know, or have you heard anything about the two venues we are considering?  Tarrytown House Estates or View on the Hudson?

I stayed at the Tarrytown House once for an overnight stay. It was nice, but out of my budget when it came to wedding planning. It's very pretty though!

I am getting married at the View next September. I chose it because it's close to Jersey, only holds one event at a time and I loved the "view," It's gotten good reviews on here, but there's only one ballroom and I don't know how the space would look with 50 guests.  Since it's an oddly shaped room I don't know how they would set it up.  But you may find that it's budget friendly and maybe can expand your guest list a bit!?

No help on flowers, using a family friend. Good luck!

the view is very nice. there are a lot of nice places around here that are near to tarrytown.

i used westchester floral decorators for flowers, they're great.

can i ask though why tarrytown? are you originally from there? it just seems like a odd place to have a "destination" wedding at lol

Flowers were from Pearl River florist.  I was again very happy with everything!

I agree with bridaljoy....look into Pearl River Florist.  Their prices are very reasonable and they were great to work with.

I would suggest looking into George Steinberg if you are interested in a video.  PM me for his information.

I'm sorry I can't help with the two venues.  I haven't been to either one.

Does it have to be IN Tarrytown? Or in Westchester in general? (There are lots of venues nearby to Tarrytown)

Just an FYI-- Tarrytown House does not allow outside florists, they have 5 (i think?) approved florists that you can choose from. So if you're serious about going there, don't waste your time looking for one!

    HI Gail,
Congratulations on your daughter's wedding!!  How exciting!  I know my mom is glorified over mine!  There is a florist, Monica Chimes Floral in the White Plains area that does phenomenal work.  They also do linens, lighting etc..  I was in a wedding that they did & it was pretty amazing how the flowers NEVER wilted in almost 90 degree weather!!  I went to a shower at Tarrytown House & it was terrific!  The food was really tasty too!  It has such an intimate ambiance for an intimate wedding like the one you are having. Good luck, feel free to PM me if you have any other questions!
