New to it all

So, I am fairly new to theKnot. What do all the acronyms stand for? I am very nervous about making sure everything turns out great.... I have been relying on theKnot to find all my vendors. I am greatly appreciative of any feedback or help anyone can provide to us during this exciting time!
A little about me/us:
I am Ashley, 28, working in sales. I might be looking at relocating in the next few months, so I am trying to get a jump start on planning.
My FI is 26, finishing school and intern in IT.
We are very into history, vintage, traditional. We found our venue and that has seemed to set the stage for everything else...
We decided on Humphrey Scottish Rite Masonic Center on Van Buren in downtown Milwaukee, on June 15, 2013. We are planning to do everything there, rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, pre-ceremony prep, ceremony, cocktails, and reception. We are leaning towards Double Platinum DJ, PhotoBooth4U, and Personal Touch by Julie. We have a meeting with Edward Fox photography, but really no clue for a photographer or videographer.

Any thoughts or help you can provide, we are greatly appreciative!!

Welcome and congrats! i would recommend reading the "New here? Read this first post" It has tons of info on the ins and outs of TK, and all the acronyms. We also have our own mini site, called WI knotties that has a lot of vendor reviews and a whole section about a lot of the knoties on the board. The link to the site is in my siggy. If you have any questions feel free to ask. We are a nice bunch!
  • I am going with double platinum DJ and have heard only great things about them.  Two of my cousins have used Edward Fox photography and one hated her photographer and the other one loved hers (they have multiple photographers so check out all their work and try to request a specific one).  I don't know anything about the other vendors and I had the biggest struggle trusting people with this big day when I really don't know anything about them, so I feel ya, good luck!
