Getting Married on his B-day!

So, we are getting married on his b-day....exactly a year from the day he proposed...also on his b-day! Our birthdays are 2 days apart and we always turn it into a big celebration for us but here is my question....what should I to honor his birthday on our wedding day? I have been so consumed with the details of the wedding that I haven't given it a thought and now I'm not even sure what I would do....eeek! I know I am having a groom's cake/birthday cake for him and he HATES when people sing happy birthday but should I leave it at the cake?

I also thought of a balloon release in honor of his b-day like this wedding

but is that too cheesy? I think it would make cute pictures.

Okay, girlies, I am open to all suggestions!!

TIA!

balloon releases are terrible for the environment, so I think that's a bad idea.

Getting a Grooms cake seems sufficient to me.  I'd might also give the best man a little surprise birthday gift and card to give to him the morning of the wedding while everyone's getting ready.

We're getting married 2 days before his bday, but I think we're doing the cake and everything at the rehearsal dinner rather than at the wedding.  I thought about doing something at the wedding, but I think the rehearsal is more intimate.  He's already nervous about all eyes being on the two of us, I don't think he'd love 200 people singing happy birthday to him.  But, it's your wedding and your fiance, so I think you know what he will like best and what best suits your celebration.  Also, you can get enviromentally friendly, bio-degradeable balloons if you're worried about the environment, but still want the effect of a balloon release.  I think if you use latex balloons and natural string to tie them, rather than plastic ribbons, you're good to go.

The biodegradable-ness isn't the only issue with balloon releases. Animals eat the balloons, they scare birds as they are realeased, and they can get tangled around fish and birds. I'd just do something at the rehearsal.

Ditto on the balloon releases. No way to do them in a truly environmentally friendly way.

It sounds like he doesn't like to be the center of attention, so I agree with PP on giving him a card before the wedding, having the grooms cake, etc. I don't know what your plans are after the wedding, but if you are heading back to the hotel after the festivities, you could also have something little waiting for him when you get there. Like a small present or even a small cake with candles (if he's not too 'caked' out by then) so that you, and only you, would be singing happy birthday to him on your all's wedding day.
