Candy Table

I am doing a candy table and was wondering what you would do?  coordinate to your wedding colors, or just choose your favorites?...
I want to coordinate my colors, (teal/purple) and add some chocolate in there but im not sure if my guests will enjoy raspberry/blueberry/grape if i do my colors..

Re: Candy Table

  • I can tell you that just doing your favorites is alot cheaper.
  • I went to a wedding last summer and instead of favors they decorated a long table beside the cake table with candy. They had big clear containers of different shapes and all of the candy was in the colors of the wedding - the brides grandmother made little oragami boxes for the guests to fill and take home - I loved it. The wedding colors were red, white and some black, so the candy included chocolate covered strawberries(dark and white chocolate for the black and white) , red and black twizzler type candies, coconut candies for the white and individually wrapped white life savers in peppermint and spearmint, cherry and different chocolates - yummy.
A note on the color and flavor of the candies - if the candy doesn't taste good or look good (teal candy) it will leave a bad tast in their mouths following your lovely wedding - and you don't want that to heppen. Instead of trying to match the colors with candy, try tying ribbons around the jars/containers in your wedding colors. Or put your favorite candies in colorful containers - teal is a popular color, so it wouldn't be hard to find the containers.
I'm in the process of planning 2 weddings for this fall, so my head is full of all kinds of ideas. Good Luck!

  • We did a Candy Buffet

www.McCandy.com for the candy. Extimate about 1/2 lb per person

www.cheapglassvases.com for clear glass canisters.  Don't remember the price but they were cheap!

Pink & green M&Ms, rock candy on a stick, non pariels (sp?) peach sours, gummies (worms, bears, ) hershey kisses, etc.  total of 7 canisters for 70 lbs of candy. We ran out before the cocktail hour was over with 200 guests.  oops!
  • Thanks for your input..

i am actually near Cleveland and there is a large candy factory that i will be picking my candy from. We are using printed candy bags with our names and date.  and have a variety of glassware to put the candy in.
  • Places like candy warehouse can help you build a buffet online and you can take that info to the factory near you.

Personally FI and I each chose 5 of our favorites

  • I'm not really coordinating with the colors...the chocolate covered oreas will have some design on them and I'll probably have those include colors of the wedding...other than that, I don't think it is necessary.
  • I was wondering this too.  I loved the ideas I saw with blue and white candy but I can get cheaper and more variety of candy in different colors.  Still trying yo decide.

I wouldn't worry about co-ordinating colours. I've actually just spent this weekend setting up our candy buffet and we have all different sorts of candy with no cohesive theme (colour or otherwise), and it looks great! If anything, maybe add a few flower petals or ribbons in your colours. I think that focusing more on the quality and flavour of the candies counts for more. Good luck!
