Modern, Cost-Conscious Wedding Dresses in Philadelphia area

I love sleek, modern designers like Nicole Miller, Jenny Yoo and J Crew weddings but really want the bridal shop experience. Where should I go? I am open to Philadelphia, NJ and suburbs. I would like to spend less than $1,500.

I went to Bijou Bridal in Ardmore, PA. They have a great selection and have very reasonable costs. My dress was $1500 and was a selection that is only found in that store even though you can find the designer other places. They were very nice there and you get the bridal store experience (in a calm and peaceful setting). Good luck!

I went to Irmas Bridal in Cherry Hill, NJ. I had a similar budget and had been to several places that were a little pricer than that budget and began to think it would be hard to find "the dress" in my budget. My mom and I decided before going to Irmas that we'd raise the budget if need be and cut back elsewhere because I had a few unsuccessful days (I'd been to about 4 places). Then I went to Irmas, found "the dress" and didn't even really care what the price tag said at that point, so imagine my surprise when it was only $900! I highly recommend Irma - I told her what I liked, she looked at my body type, and the first dress that she picked out for me was the one.

I got mine at La Bella Moda in conshohocken and they have dresses for under your budget. They asked me what my budget was before they started pulling dresses and did not show me anything that was out of my price range. I actually wound up spending a lot less than I budgeted.

If you want to travel south a bit into Delaware, The Bridal & Tuxedo Shoppe and Brides & Grooms were great.

Myself and paprika28 loved The Bridel & Tuxedo Shoppe... whereas some other ladies who traveled down to Delaware preferred Brides & Grooms. Most of the dresses are in your price range.

Try Sabrina Ann's in Ardmore or The Sample Shop on Pine Street. I tried on dresses at both and was impressed with the dresses and the prices are in your budget.

i second Sabrina Ann in ardmore and La Bella Moda in Conshohoken which is where i got my dress from. i Gave them a budget and they stuck with it including a sash.

Nicole Miller in Manayunk has a whole bridal boutique on its own floor. They are WONDERFUL there. I'll also reccommend Sabrina Ann though.

I saw this somewhere else, (sorry I don't know where) but a bride had purchased a very plain J Crew and had her dressmaker add some lace etc. While this might not be what you want, thought it might help someone else. Also if Priscilla still has dresses left they recommend someone to clean them or restore them as well, well worth it.

I also went to Sabrina Ann. I bought a beautiful Vera Wang sample for well under my budget! Sabrina, Amy and Rachel were great to work with. They have once worn, never worn and sample designer gowns...vera wang, Priscilla of Boston, Melissa Sweet, Monique Lhuillier etc. there were so many choices!
