Airbrush spray tan??

Hi all!  I have a question.  I have never had an airbrush spray tan before, but I am planning on having one done for my wedding.  I am very, very, VERY pale so I am just going to have a hint of color added.  If I get emotional at all I get huge red splotches all over my skin, so I think adding just the smallest amount of color could help to disguise that!  What I am concerned about is that it will rub off on my dress.  My dress has some beading on the top part and I am just nervous it will rub off onto it!! Do you think this will happen?? Thanks for your help ladies!

Re: Airbrush spray tan??

  • Have you ever tried an airbrush tan before?  If you haven't, I'd recommend maybe trying one ahead of time and seeing how it fairs over the course of a regular day.  Maybe even wear a white tank top you don't care too much about as a tester.
  • I agree with the PP--definitely do a trial first.  Also know that there are two types:  an airbrush tan and a spray tan.  An aibrush tan is where a person sprays you; a spray tan is done by a machine.

I had a spray tan and I have had them several times with no problems.  I did get a little stain on my dress--however, I had also used some self-tanner on my chest and arms to "pump up" my tan a little so it could have been that.
  • I have never had an airbrush tan, but I have used Versa-spa spray tanners before and they're pretty natural (I'm also very pale and turn red, just like you!).  I have been told a friend who is an aesthetician and another friend who used to run a tanning salon that airbrush can actually turn out darker than spray tan.  Try Desert Sun tanning if they have them in your area--they have versa spa tanning systems.  :)

  • From a personal experience, I would definitely do a trial. I had a spray tan done about a year ago and it wasn't the best. I looked like a oompa loompa. I don't know if maybe it's where I am extremely pale or if maybe the girl used the wrong color. Either way, do a trial, because they could mess up. And exfoliate REALLY good before you go. A friend who went with me got hers done and she didn't exfoliate her feet very good and they looked like she had stuck her toes in dirt. It was gross.

Thanks for the input ladies! I am super fair so I will definitely go for a trial first to make sure I don't turn out orange. That is my worst wedding nightmare! well, one of them at least!
