my sister in law is planning her wedding. they are planning on a ceremony in a spot that means something to them. the reception area is almost an hour from the cermemony location. they are not using a wedding planner. im worried about this for her as far as people not wanting to drive that distance and the timing especially on getting guests to the reception and taking pics with bridal party etc. in between. i told her she needs to pay particular attention to the timing of everything. im i being overly concerned? will it work out fine? anyone ever have their two locations so seperate?
Re: question about distance between ceremony and reception locations
[QUOTE]An hour does seem a bit extreme. I think the main problem that she might run into with that distance is having people attend only the reception in order to avoid that drive. As a guest, I would personally find it rude to have to drive to the ceremony, then drive an hour to get to the reception, then wait for another hour while they are taking pictures...

I definitely agree with this. Unless it was a very close friend, I'd probably do the same thing.

Was an afternoon wedding and an evening reception so I had two outfits.
I have to tell you that I received so many compliments regarding the shuttle. It allowed people to meet and mingle before the ceremony and it really set the vibe.
My wedding was in Vegas, so I was able to have the shuttle make multiple stops along the strip. But if I were doing it for a wedding here at home, I'd have everyone meet at the Reception Site and shuttle them back and forth from there.
