1950s Hair Ideas

We are having a 1950s themed wedding in August and I have no idea what to do with my hair!
My dress is an A line, ivory satin, tea length "1950s" style dress. I know in the 50s people had shorter curly hair, but mine is shoulderblade length and STRAIGHT. So straight that curls, if left loose, fall out unless 1/2 a can of hairspray is used... and crunchy wedding night hair sounds rather ...well... unsexy... I am thinking maybe french twist? with a birdcage veil?

Help!

Birdcage veil with one of these hairstyles would look pretty.

I absolutely LOVE that first hairstyle from the second poster! I have been thinking about the same idea for my hair, actually. My bridesmaids are going to be, I think, wearing kind of a 50's pinup feel for dresses, and I would love a vintage hairstyle to match.
