Where are you going for your Honeymoon???

We are sooo excited to plan the Honeymoon!!  However, we have a unique problem.  We have taken 4 cruises so we have traveled to many of the "beach spots"  We wanted to take an Alaskan Cruise or go to Ireland, but it will be too cold in October to go there!  We are trying to keep it under 2k if possible.  Any suggestions??? Where is everyone going???

We are waiting until Spring 2012 for ours so we can get some money built back up after the wedding.  We would like to do 14 days in Europe (Athens, Rome, Florence).  That is the goal at this point.  If money is an issue it may be more like our 1 year anniversary trip.  I just want to be able to do it right.

We just booked a package at the Sun Palace Resort in Cancun, which is an all-inclusive.  We've never done anything like that before and chances are we won't again (unless, I guess, we really really like it).  Anyway, Cancun sounds really nice in late November/early December in Iowa...hopefully it will still sound good in August :o

Have you thought about going somewhere in Canada?  I really want to go to Vancouver as well as Montreal at some point.  You could save money by making it a road trip and stopping at a couple places on the way.  Otherwise I think flights to Montreal are in the mid $400s.  Vancouver might be cheaper since you can fly to Seattle and just drive or take a bus or something up

We are going to wait until January and go up north to lutsen and stay in a cabin. We plan to do some dog sledding, snowboarding, and snowshoeing. We love the snow so it's gonna be super fun :). Also, we hope to go to europe for our one year anniversary. Why not go somehwere in the states? Key West is great or maybe go to British Columbia(I've always wanted to go there) You could check out their national parks and do some neat whale watching. Good luck!

Man everyone's sounds like a blast!

As of right now we're planning on a 7-13 day cruise, not 100% sure yet. However we are looking at buying a house, and getting ready to put in an offer. So if that goes through we might wait until 1 year, and then go from there. We'll see!

We originally wanted to go to Alaksa or Canada!!!  Problem is, in Oct it get sooo dark (and COLD) so if we did that, we would wait until the next June of 2012.  We just aren't a fan of the idea of waiting :)  We want to wisk away!!!

We're going to Dublin for our honeymoon.  We started looking at beach spots but I'm really fair complected and we've both been to tropical places before and it just wasn't that exciting.  Ireland is a trip of a lifetime for both of us and the flight, hotel, etc. ended up being just about the same amount as trying to go to Sandals or some other all-inclusive resort.  We were going to wait a year to go to Ireland but because of his work situation and potential babies in our future, we decided to do it immediately.  I can't wait!!!!!

We are looking at going to a Sandals resort following our wedding.  We're in talks with a travel agent, and super excited about it.

I've done a lot of international travel; lived in Spain and would highly recommend it.  Also traveled to Paris, Rome, London.  Europe is beautiful, and those of you going will certainly love it!

We are either going to an all-inclusive in the Dominican Republic or in Mexico.  We just thought that after all of the rushing around and happy "chaos" of the wedding, we'd probably just want to sit on our butts in the sand and not worry about going around and sight seeing, etc.

Don't get me wrong, we would LOVE to go to Europe but we thought that it would be a little more relaxing to go sit on a beach.

I want to go on a cruise because I had once before with my mom, aunt and sister, but my fiance (who has never been on one) would rather just go to Florida since he's never been there. I told him we could leave from Florida for the cruise so we'd still be there for a day or 2..so hopefully he changes his mind!

We are going to PuntaCana, the Dominican Republic.  We will be staying at the same resort which he proposed to me at in hopefully the same room/suite we stayed in as well.  I am so excited!  Our trip there almost two years ago was perfect.  We had relaxation, entertainment, fun and sun all wrapped up in one.  And, the price is great too.  ;)

Our trip two years ago included airfare and 7 nights at the all inclusive resort and was right around $2,000 for both of us.  Our honeymoon trip is a little more but, still under $3,500 for everything.

Perfect vacation for the beach bum I am.  lol!

My fiance is from Germany. If you want to go to Europe I would recommend Southern Germany. Around the Munich area is BEAUTIFUL! The disney castle was designed after a castle that is in that area. All of Germany is beautiful though. And the food is AAAAAH-Mazing!

You ladies have some really fun honeymoons planned!  How fun!  My FI didn't want to do the beach trip so we are staying stateside and probably doing Sun Valley, ID or Montana somewhere.  We will road trip there and once we are there we will relax, hike and just enjoy being married.  Maybe I can talk him into the beach for an anniversary!  :)

Soon2Be-how in the world were you able to do SEVEN days in DR for only $2000 for the 2 of you with airfare AND all-inclusive?!?!.  Did you travel during an off season? On all of my searches I haven't been able to get cheaper than $2000 PER PERSON without Airfare but including all-inclusive.
FI parents offered to pay for our HM, but don't have a lot of money to give towards it (which right now I wish they'd just give us a check and let us use it towards our honeymoon-or let us know how much they are able to spend so that we can give them ideas for a one we'd like in that price range) Vegas has been mentioned at least twice by FIL, which is a trip we do annual with a large group of friends-not something we really want to do just the 2 of us-especially on our HM.

Optimally, I'd love to go somewhere in the Caribbean, but nothing has been planned yet

LRPJ and Jesstr2 - I am actually from Europe where I was born and mostly raised and I go there at least once per year. But it will be FI's second time around and he wants to go Munich area where his ancestors were from. Paris is always a "must do" along with Milan for me ( my hometown) but I want to see if we can go to Barcelona as well. The country in the middle would be Austria or Switzerland and we chose Austria.
