parent gift ideas

okie dokie. I need ideas like woah for thank you gifts for our parents. Fi's mom and dad LOVE to go to the casino in wheeling or cincinnati, so i thought that would be a good gift for them (a night at the hotel and some gambling $$). BUT I am stuck on ideas for my folks. They are up in the Cleveland area... I thought maybe tickets to a show and a gift certificate for a dinner out on the town? But that's all I got. Any other suggestions?

I'm sorry I'm not help but I'll be stalking this post because I have no clue what to get my parents!  They're paying for the enitre wedding (except rehearsal dinner and rings) so I feel like we have to get them something nice but I haven't the slightest idea.  Plus the wedding's in 3 weeks!

Our wedding is this weekend already! We are planning on making our parents albums off snapfish or similar websites. Our photographer is doing our album and we could get them smaller versions of ours but she only does these expensive Italian albums and they wouldn't be personalized (that costs even more, for her time to create it). So we are making them so that my FIL can have one with more pictures of their family and friends and my parents can have one with more of ours.

I think I made the executive decision on bottles of wine for the parents, a lovely hand-written thank you note, and a gift card for a fancy restaurant. :-) (So each set of parents gets wine, note, and gift card).

I got to thinking and asked for opinions of my married friends at work and I've come to the conclusion that expensive thank you's kind of defeat the purpose for their generous "gifts" (aka wedding assistance). What do you all think?

I was thinking of getting them a music box that was engraved or something. Not something too expensive (because they'd pretty much be indirectly footing that bill) but memorable and meaningful. Now if I could only find an affordable one...

I want to give them some sort of keep sake. I might take some of our childhood photos and then add some of our wedding photos for a before and after feel in some sort of nice frame.

I think that is a great idea to get them a nice bottle of wine and a gift certificate to a nice restuarant! I was having difficulties trying to figure out what we were going to get our parents too. I got each set of our parents (our parents are divcorced) a very nice and unique to them picture frame that is bigger so they can put a photo of us or a family photo of all of us at our wedding, then I was going to get them a gift certificate out to dinner. Neither of our parents are paying for our wedding at all, we are paying for the entire thing, but just wanted to give them a thank for their support.
