Anyone feeling "eh" after their hair trial?

I had my hair trial last week and was not liking how it was done and they basically ran out of time and asked me to come back for a complementary trial to get it right.  So, I had that tonight with a different hairdresser (their suggestion).  She did it a way I wasn't liking (and to be clear, I brought pictures each time and described what I wanted) and I just wanted to cry.  I told her it wasn't what I wanted and with the help of another, they started down the "right" path.  It looked nice & alright, but I wasn't wowed.  When I left we talked about how that style would be the base, but what little changes would be made. I am at the point where I almost feel like I could do it better myself. It looked nice and all, but this is my WEDDING day and I want to say "wow."  Both times I went home to my FI who said he liked my hair both times, but that didn't make me feel better. I feel like some of the girls who posted thoughts about re-thinking their dresses, but it's my hair!  My "day-of" hair is free since I've paid for the trial, so I wouldn't save by doing it myself.  Part of me says to just go do it and be vocal and demanding to ensure it's done right rather than sit back and think it will come together if it doesn't appear to be.

  • Be vocal!!! Don't be afraid to be vocal about what you want. If this 2nd trial still isn't right, go for another.

  • Definitely speak up! That is a big part to the whole look for your wedding day. If their not doing something you want, tell them and try to re-direct them to what you want. Don't let them tell you what THEY think looks best. It's your day and you're paying them to provide a look for you. And if they aren't willing to work with you, maybe it's best you don't go there, as crappy as that is :(
  • I had my trial today with the same woman who has done my hair for the last 7 years and hated it!!  Im hating myself even more right  now for speaking up while I had the chance.  If you don't like it tell her and maybe she can fix it, youre going to have to look at those pictures for the rest of your life I'm not all about being Bridezilla but I am all about what makes me happy ands I wish I had said something while I had a chance.

  • Definitely speak up.  FI keeps reminding me throughout this process that you're the one writing the checks--that means they work for you.  I struggle immensely with taking that advice, but it's true.  You're paying for a service and it should meet your standards.
In this case, the salon should be accommodating if you politely explain your still feeling nervous about your hair and would like another trial.  Better than having to fix it several times the morning of your wedding and better word of mouth advertising for them.  Good luck!
  • I have been growing my hair long for 2 years and always had my heart set on large curls down my back the day of my wedding. At my trial we decided I better do an updo since my hair is thick and straight and goes flat so fast. Now I'm thinking that my hair is too long for an updo since it was almost falling out for my trial. I'm going to ask my girl that is doing my highlights tomorrow for her opinion.

  • I haven't had my hair trial yet, it's on Tuesday and I'm worried about it because I'm not entirely sure what I want to do yet...

Hope you can work it out with them and get the look you are going for! Be glad you know what you want and make sure you ask for it!
