Friend's Mom

This is totally not really related to wedding stuff, well I guess it is, kind of.

I have a friend that I used to work with, her brother and mother also worked with us.  Years ago her mom got cancer, but beat it.  I think she had ovarian and breast at some point.  Then earlier this year she got sick again and now is most likely terminal.  The cancer she has now is inoperable and she's pretty much too old to have the surgery anyway, they are worried that she wouldn't make it through surgery.

So I don't work there anymore, and neither does her daughter or son, but she does.  Well she isn't working right now, but my best friend and man of honor still works there.  Every year she and I (the daughter) go to see DMB together, cause we love them and its like a tradition for us.

Now for wedding.  I'm getting married on 7/31 and she is engaged, but hasn't set a date yet.  She and her FI are trying to buy a house first and get settled before they do.  But she thinks most likely this fall or winter.  Clearly, I know she is worried and thinking that she may get married without her mother there.  And she could even be feeling somewhat guilty because she is older, 34 and probably thinks she should have married sooner so her mom could enjoy it.

I don't know, I don't really have a question.  I just don't know what to do or say.  Especially because my mother drives me insane, but I can't imagine what it would be like if she weren't here, or died right before I was set to get married.

Her mom is awesome.  I love her, and its just unfair I guess.  But I know, cancer always is.

So I guess I'm just asking for support and I'm not a very religious person at all, but pray for her, please.  My friend deserves to have her mother there on the most important day of her life, and her mother deserves to live.
Celebrate we will, cause life is short but sweet for certain....
