What to do in Miami??? :)

Hey all!  Well my fiance and I are from So Cal, and are taking our honeymoon in Antigua late September.  We were going to stop in Miami for a couple days before, since we have never been, and party, explore, have a good time, whatever...  We were wondering, WHAT should we do when there??  We will probably have 2 days 2 nights, and of course we wanted to party in South Beach, but we want a little help..  WHAT SHOULD WE DO???  Thanks for your suggestions..  :)  B

  • Your options are endless!!! Not sure if you all like gambling, but the Seminole Hardrock Casino in Ft. Lauderdale is always lots of fun. You can be there in 20-30 minutes depending on exactly where you are staying in Miami. In addition to gambling, they have night clubs, a rodeo bar (with mechanical bull), shopping, and an Improv Comedy Club.

I'm pretty sure you are going visit Miami Beach, so, while you are down there, you should stop by Wet Willies. They are well known for their frozen alcoholic beverages. The Pink Flamingo and Call-A-Cab are my favorites. They also have some really good calamari.  Also on Miami Beach, you can arrange to view all of the million dollar houses on Star Island with Island Queen Cruises. They also have tours of the Everglades as well if seeing an actual "Florida Gator" is on your list of things to do.

If you like to shop, Sawgrass Mills and Dolphin Malls are some of the biggest and best in Miami. Sawgrass Mills has a lot of outlets, but not all of the shops there ARE outlets. Do not go to Aventura Mall. It is a tourist trap. The stores there are high-end and over-priced.

  • Awesome!!!  Thanks Dannitra...  We're so excited to head that way!!!  wooo hooo  :)
  • I like downtown. We stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites Miami Brickell Downtown (http://www.hamptoninnmiamibrickell.com/) that is a block from Mary Brickell Village (http://www.marybrickellvillage.com/) - the place that locals eat and play in downtown - and  a short metromover (free monorail) ride from Bayside Marketplace (http://www.baysidemarketplace.com/) - the place for tourists with tons of souvenirs, local and chain restaurants, live music and bay boat trips.

Aventura Mall is a beautiful mall, but nothing that you can't buy anywhere else in the US.
