Sharpie liquid pencil

http://blog.sharpie.com/2010/08/introducing-the-new-sharpie-liquid-pencil/

This thing looks amazing. I kind of wish I still needed school supplies! .... Ok, no I don't. But I still think it's cool and will probably buy one, just to try it out.

Re: Sharpie liquid pencil

  • I want!
    I loooove school supplies
  • I also love me some school supplies.

I wonder how well it erases though? Those 'erasable' pens never worked for me.
  • My brother just got a bunch of school supplies for college as a big huge package gift from my grandparents. I was jealous because he had brand new notebooks and pens. Not jealous that he's starting classes soon, but man I wanted those pens. They looked fancy. I wonder if any of them were the liquid gel pencils.

  • That's pretty cool. It would force me to finish the SUnday crossword by Tuesday or I would no longer be able to erase. Interesting

Ugh, yes! I have to deal with this all the time. When I was in school, the side of my left hand would always be black from graphite smudges.

    creeepy
  • Ha, Night, I think I'm the only leftie who manages to avoid that. But I write weird, with my hand down so the pen is pointed upwards. My stepdad does this weird thing where he curls his hand and it looks like he's writing upside down, but I can't figure that one out.
  • Part of the reason my hand writing is weird is that I am left handed and have spent two decades trying to keep my hand off the ink.

LOL. Maybe? They say it's "liquid graphite," but who knows if it's actually the same as pen ink just with a fancier name.

  • Oooooo, want!  One of the things I like about my work is the ability or order pretty much whatever you want from the Grand and Toy catalogue.  Once this bad boy is in there, you better bet I'm ordering one.  I can rationalize that for sure.

  • I write above whatever I'm writing, great for pen, still crap for pencils.

  • I'm a teaching and school supply junky.  FI has to keep me out of the back to school corner.  :) I have a couple that are liquid graphite for two of my students.  They aren't Sharpie brand and they look like regular yellow #2 pencils, but you never have to sharpen them (obviously).  I had some trouble getting them to write from all angles.  Sometimes, you have to rotate them in your fingers to get the tip to hit the paper just right.  Maybe Sharpie improved the design.
