Anyone ever had two Maid of Honors??

I have 2 BEST friends!  has anyone else had 2 MOH? I couldn't ever imagine choosing one of them! They both are just so important to me :) then I would have three Bridesmaids!

Re: Anyone ever had two Maid of Honors??

  • I personally didn't but many brides on these boards have and there is absolutely nothing wrong with having multiple MOHs.  Just make sure that they each know that they are one of two MOHs so feelings don't get hurt down the road.

  • I'm having two MOHs. My sister and my best friend which I met in pre-school and have known for 24 years. Then I have 4 other BMs.

  • I've seen lots of weddings with two Maids of Honor. Go for it.

I've been a co-MOH, and I've also been in a wedding where there was no MOH.  I think you're good as long as you do what feels right to you.  Just don't change your mind and try to "demote" either one of them, or kick them out all together.  Take some time making your decision before you ask anyone!

edit:  another thought, if you have 3 girls total, maybe just have no MOH?  I mean, the girl who's not a MOH might feel kinda crappy

I had two.  When I asked them I asked them to be "co-MOHs" so they knew up front I was asking the other also.  H is one of two BM in a wedding next week - same thing, groom asked them to be "co"

The only instance where I'd recommend against this is if you only have 3 people total.  Because then you're basically telling one person they're not as special.  I believe your wording above means you have 5 total, so that shouldn't be an issue!

ETA:  I'm guessing you'll be back in a few weeks asking how having 2 MOHs actually works.  For me:  One MOH (my college BFF) stood next to me and thus did the ceremony stuff (held H's ring and my bouquet, adjusted my train, etc.)  My other MOH (HS BFF) signed the marriage license.  Both gave speeches.
  • I am a co-MOH in my cousin's wedding. I will also be having 2 MOHs in mine.

  • I only have 1 MOH but we have 2 best men.  I don't think anything is wrong with it.
  • my best friends sister-in-law didnt have any maid of honor but all bridesmaids because she couldnt choose just one person to be her MOH.
