Kenneth Stillman Video

Does anyone have any good experiences with Kenneth Stillman? I booked him for my July 2010 and lately all I have been hearing are bad things. I know he takes a little longer getting the video back to you. I'm beginning to get worried about  using him. Our second payment is coming up soon and would like some honest reviews of him before making the payment. Thanks.

I have had a great experience thus far.  Don't worry, I think people who have had a bad one are few, but they appear to be many because when you're angry or upset, you want people to know, but when you're happy or satisfied, you don't necessarily feel the need to let everyone know that, you know what I mean?

Not taking anything away from the negative experiences of others, I have had a great one.  I am getting married at the end of the month, he has always returned our calls, had meetings, emailed, and given us a good amount of time and attention.  He has great ideas on how to make your video look better, suggestions on what to do on the wedding day, from his experiences, and his videos are great!

I wanted a more artistic video, one that didn't have the cheese of "page turns" or fades in and out of scenes, etc.  Ken will give you that, and you can get a same day edit!  Meaning, you can get a 4 minute clip of your wedding day, so waiting 8 months to a year isn't such a big deal to me.  I'd rather it be good work than fast work, especially since you have the 4 minute clip in the meantime.

Don't be nervous, you'll be fine.

I'm also using him and our wedding isn't until October.  I was reluctant as well, but based on my own experiences, he has been great about getting back to us and meeting with us.  We haven't spoken since our sit-down when we signed the contract, but his work is soooo much better than a lot of other stuff out there, so IMO, it's worth waiting the year for the video.  And, to repeat the last post, the BIG video show is soooo worth it because they edit that day and you get something immediately so you can show everyone while people are still excited about your wedding.  The only thing I asked of him is that we have our vid by our 1 year anny and he promised us that.  I am confident he will come through with it for us.

I am using him for my wedding as well. It's not until September but in the beginning I had trouble getting a hold of him to set up an appointment.  In the meantime I had met with practically every videographer in South Jersey!  No one, IMO, is as good as he is at that price.  I eventually met with him and booked him on the spot because I didn't like anyone else. I was looking for someone with a journalistic style but still reasonable and he offers us that.  I don't care if he's hard to get a hold of and I don't care if it'll take a year for me to get my video, the bottom line is, he's good and so is his price.  Also, ever since I booked him I haven't had trouble getting a hold of him.  He's most effective via email and facebook, I have realized.

I used him and I agree with PP that you can't beat his price especially for the quality product you will get.  I've never had any problems getting in touch with him and I really liked working with him.
I'm pretty sure it's pronounced your mom's a moron and if you didn't have your name legally changed by the age of 22, so are you. Unless you're from another continent. -Groomz

I have booked Ken for my wedding as well and he recently did my FSIL wedding November (along with a few other friends weddings through out the years) and all I can say is that he is WONDERFUL! I actually booked Ken even before I knew exactly what reception site I was going with (they all had my date open so I felt comfortable doing this). Yes it does take a while to get your video back but like pp said you get the BIG video to hold you over! Good luck and I'm sure you made the right decision!

I also booked with Kenneth Stillman and haven't found anyone that can produce his quality of work at a comparable rate.   I haven't had any issues yet with trying to reach him, but I feel confident that getting my video will be worth the wait.  I highly suggest adding The BIG Show to your package if you haven't already done so.  Right after your wedding, I guarantee you'll keep replaying The BIG Show.

I used him for my New Years eve wedding...and he was AMAZING....The Big Show was the biggest hit at my wedding, he did such an amazing job.  We actually  have guy friends who watch it randomly b/c they think it's amazing.

I never had one problem with him, he was great to work with and well worth whatever wait.  Seeeing what he did with my Big show in such a short time is only a little hint of what I can expect for my wedding video

Here is the link...I'm still amazed by it :)  He even is offering an option where he will print a copy of the Big show for your guests to have at the end of the reception...this was a HUGE hit...we still have people calling asking if we have extra copies

I'm from the Northern NJ board, just happened to pop on here. I rec posting this on our board as well--I know at least two brides who have been married over a year and haven't received their video and one who got married in July and doesn't have hers either. Most of the replies here are from people who haven't gotten married yet---keep in mind you may feel differently about waiting after your wedding. One of the NNJ brides I mentioned was fine with waiting, but she thought it would be 6, 8 months, not over a year.

I think these brides have stated they are aware it will take longer and they don't have an issue with. So what is your point?

Here's an idea - let's see your video and how long it took to get and debate whether the quality and the turnaround time justify each other.

Oh I'm well aware of the turn around time and that's why I did the "Big show"...everyone I know who waited the year or so to get their video said it was well worth the wait.

I've seen videos from many family memebers who got theirs back in a few months and they can not even come close to Ken's work

Ken has addressed this concern with me directly.  He is aware of the concerns regarding the turn around time and that is why he has "revamped" how he produces the work.  He explained to me the changes in his process and how that will help speed up production.

He has never made excuses, but rather tried to make changes.  He also never told me I'd get the video in 3 months, or even 6 months.  I think he told me 8 to 12 months.  I like him, I love his work

  • Hi Ladies,

PLEASE TAKE MYADVICE AND DON'T USE KEN STILLMAN!! I was once in your shoes, just before my wedding thinking, "Sure, I can wait a year..." Well it will be 2 years this July and we have nothing except nasty emails from Ken. The man is a crazy lunatic who trys to do reverse psychology on you. I had no idea what a psychotic person I was hiring for my special day let alone I let him into my house, my family, my life.... For those of you who have booked him and your wedding hasn't happened yet, you still have time GET OUT while you still can. For those of you who already had him for your wedding and are "patiently waiting" for your video as did I, you will finally see his true colors. My suggesstion to those who are already married and used Ken-badger him now, call and email everyday!! Unfortunatley for my husband and I we will be considering legal action at this point. P.S. I just love watching my same day edit short dvd with my NAME SPELLED WRONG-it's so special!!!!
