Retro and Vintage Weddings

Newbie

I've lurked here and stalked your gorgeous profiles and decided to jump in.  Right now, I'm trying to get ideas for cakes and centerpieces (I have appoinments with a few of each this weekend).

Where do you ladies get your vintage inspiration?

Thanks and so happy to be here!

  • My vintage inspiration is 1940s, Frank Sinatra, and peacocks. But I had a million very different ideas in my head before I decided on that. I looked at hundreds of pictures before I decided what I really loved so keep looking and make sure you show your favorites to your fiance!

  • Welcome!
My inspiration for my wedding had to do with our tattooed lifestyle and I met my FI while I was in the Navy...so it came together pretty easily for me.

I also get a lot of ideas from the gals here and seraching on etsy.com as well.

  • I did a lot of looking at stylemepretty and offbeatbride and a zillion other wedding websites! I can comfortably say that I obsessed about it for a while. It's not even set in stone as of now, but I have a basic idea.
Disclaimer: Please excuse the above comment. I'm probably freaking out because there is less than one month to go. Thank you.

  • Welome & happy planning! It seems like you are getting close to the big day! I love your color scheme :)

My vintage look is a classic black & white & cream. I was inspired by vintage typewriters, newsprints, brown shipping packages and black & ivory lace & doilies.

My inspirations are old lace, pearls, 1950s/60s, old wall paper, and Joan Holloway on Mad Men(not Betty Draper, because she is a horrible woman.) oh, and Dean Martin...love him!
