Are you doing any special joining rituals? For example: Candle Lighting Ceremony, Hand Fasting Ceremony, Joining wine, etc.

    We are doing a tree planting ceremony. We will have started to entwine two tree saplings (so that they willl grow together forever), symbolizing our marriage. During the ceremony, each parent and grandparent will pour a little bit of soil into the pot to symbolize the foundation for which the tree grows or the marriage. Later we will plant the tree in the ground. And watch it grow as our marriage grows.

    With adding the Hindu rituals into our ceremony, I don't think we'll have time for a joining ceremony of any kind.  However, I heard of the wine box ritual and I really liked it.  You put two wine glasses, a bottle of wine, and letters that you each write to each other in a bottle, and put it in a box to be opened on your 10th anniversary.  I think it's super sweet!

    I seen the ritual that melb mentioned on pinterest and I ended up pinning it... We have not discussed what traditions we want to do during our ceremony... The tree idea is something different I have never seen or have heard anyone do that during the ceremony.

    My FH is a police officer so after we say I Do our mothers are going to handcuff us together. I know its not traditional but that is what I like about it.

    I have not even thought of anything to much. I was thinking of the sand (FI is joinging into my family of me and my 3 kids) I like the idea of them being invovled. But cost wise it would be a lot for something I am not sure Id display. I want to come up with something unique to our family. Although I have to say Tarren I love the idea you are doing. Very unique and personal to you and your FI

    I haven't thought about it too much. We don't want our ceremony to go on for too long, and neither of us are religious.
