Bridal party issue

One of my bridesmaid called me couple weeks ago and I just new she called to dropout of bridal party. We talked a bit and I totally understand where she is coming from she is still coming to wedding which I am soo grateful for. But now I'm in a sort of bind. I already had one less person than Fi now I have 2 less. I was planning on asking another friend but recently some things have come up and I'm questioning whether I should ask her. If I don't have 4 Fi has 6 and that means 2 girls walk with 2 guys fine no biggie, right??? Please tell me a 4 to 6 ratio party won't look wonky all of our bridal party is very close friends to Fi and I. I don't want to just add people to make it even.

Re: Bridal party issue

  • I say have who you want. Have you thought about just having the guys walk up with your FI and the girls walking down the aisle by themselves?

  • I agre with Ameliah19. It's fine to have it off numbered. But I'dhave the guys stand up there with FI and the girls walk solo.

  • It's fine to have odd numbers.  Have each person walk out individually.  Don't ask people to be in your wedding just to have even numbers- have the people you really want.

  • It's perfectly fine to have odd numbers. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just don't ask people to be in it to even it up.

I couldnt agree more to this.

You can have them each walk out individually. Maybe scatter it guy, girl, guy, girl, guy, girl, guy, girl, guy.

Also, if you are worried about the recessional, you could just have them alternate. With the extra GM going last. Ex: GM BM GM BM GM BM GM BM GM GM. ETA: You could also do.... GM BMGM BMGM BMGM BMGM GM

Have the people you want in your bridal party. Ours started off with 4 guys, 4 girls. We now have 4 guys, 3 girls. And I'm not adding a person just for numbers.
  • No worries about having even numbers on sides, honestly- nobody will probably notice. My friend just had me stand up for her then on her husband's side there were 3 guys. Nobody mentioned it, and I doubt they noticed it.

I think it'll work out fine. PP offered some great suggestions. I doubt that anyone will notice - and if they do, I don't think they'll think anything of it!
