Cute ideas for asking bridesmaids?

Hello!

I want to ask my girls in some kind of special (and inexpensive) way to be my bridesmaids.

Anyone have any good tips?

Also, what's a good number to have? 5 guys & 5 girl?

    The right number of people for your wedding party is the number of people you and FI feel closest to.  There's no real answer to this question.  If you've got six best friends and a sister you're close to, but FI just has one guy he wants to be a groomsman, that's okay.  There are no rules about that.

    I've never been asked to be a bridesmaid in a cutesey way.  The bride always just talked to me.  I think the trend of "creative" ways of asking bridesmaids is silly and a bit of a waste - chances are good the Ring Pop, cookie, hanger, "bridesmaid" T-shirt, etc. are just going to get thrown away or donated.

    If you must do something cutesey, I recommend a card.

    1. Ask them individually, in person or on the phone. Cards, etc. are gimmicky.

    2. You have as many people on your side as you like. Your groom picks as many for his side as he likes. These numbers do not need to be the same, nor do they need to be all the same genders.

    I used one of those someecards that my friends and I find to be hilarious and I printed them out on cardstock and they said, "since there will be pictures of us drunk and dancing anyway, lets make this official. will you be my bridesmaid?" and then I wrote a nice note inside and gave them a hanger from etsy that had their name on it.  I bought a set of 5 so they ended up being a good deal.  They all loooooved it!

    I have 2 brides maids and 1 MOH. I got inexpensive photo albums from target. I printed off a few photos of me with each girl from over the years ( high school, college etc) and put them in the album. On the last page I used stickers to ask if they will be my brides maid. I figured they will appreciate having some photos of us together and can always use it to add more pictures from the wedding or other things. I thought it was cute and useful
