Thank you Cards

I need a ton of thank you cards for showers and stuff.  We have ordered the wedding thank yous through the photographer, but can anyone suggest a place that has really inexpensive thank you note cards?  I am not looking for anything fancy.

Dollar store.  My sister just bought some for her bridal shower.  I think she even got some really nice black/white ones.

I got some generic note cards from Michaels... I think they were $10 for 50 or something (possibly on sale). They didn't say "thank you" on the front but meh, they were pretty.

It depends how long you have... I ordered some personalized ones from Vista Print, but they take about 3 weeks to arrive.  They cost a bit more than dollar store ones but are good quality and you can make them your own colours or whatever.

I also have blank notecards (from Michaels, $1 for 10 I think) and I bought a cute artsy "Thank You" stamp from Michaels for $1.50 so I can stamp some up while I wait for my VP ones to arrive.

I have a question about thank you cards.

We recently attended two weddings and both thank you cards that we received had a picture of the bride and groom on them.

Is it necessary to do that? I see you girls bought generic ones and that's what i thought of doing.

Would that be ok or would it be considered cheap or something?

    thanks

CanRus: I don't see anything wrong with this and as a guest, it wouldn't bother me.  I think it's more important to have a heartfelt handwritten note inside a thank you card, than a pic of the bride & groom on the front.

Not necessary at all. I know a lot of couples like to do this but the drawback is that you have to wait for the photographer to send you the cards before you can even start writing them. IMO a prompt thank you is way more important than a picture of the couple.

thanks girls, i agree. I also think it's a waste because i am not sure how many people will actually keep those thank you cards with the pictures. I mean if you are a really close friend or a really close relative you probably will. But most people will just throw it out.

Hallmark Clearance sale had their boxes of 8 for $1. I think they have the sales once a month.
