Gold, Black and Green with Red walls in the venue???

I definitely don't want it to look like Christmas. My venue is kind of dark and regal with red walls. Here is the link:

I want to wear perhaps a soft gold and I want my bridesmaids in green. The groom and his men will have on black and we'll tie everything together. Also, this is a May wedding. Any suggestions? The red walls has really thrown me off a bit ;)

  • Gold black and red is a very classy combo, why not just switch out the green for red? I feel like green doesn't go very well with a gold/black combo.

  • I'd do a softer green, like a sage, which would look lovely with the gold and black but won't make it look like Christmas.

  • Thanks! I love the venue but I don't want to match it 'too' well, adding red to my wedding party - if that makes any sense. :)

  • Habs is wise.  Sage will go very nicely with the red- especially since it's a deeper red, not christmas red, no one will think of Christmas.
  • I like the pic with black tablecloths. Can you do the black with sage and gold accents?

May doesn't matter.  Throw the "season" mindframe out.

Just because you saw it on Four Weddings, doesn't mean it's a good idea.
  • Great suggestion! I want to wear a soft gold, perhaps champagne - ish color. What if I substitute the sage for a turqoise or tiffany blue-ish color? Would that look ok - gold-ish, blue and black with red walls. :) I'm more of a dark color girl but I will sacrifice at least one bright color for the sake of my wedding. ;) Thanks to you all!

  • Also- the only people wearing gold would be the hubby and myself, with hints of whatever other color. The groomsmen vests would match the bridesmaid - we both wanted to wear gold.
