Laumont Farm wedding and weather

Has anyone been to  or had a wedding at Lauxmont Farms where it rained? If so, how did the event turn out and would you recommend it? We are looking at the Sunken Garden site and I am concerned that it will be a total disaster if it rains! Any feedback will be helpful! Thanks!

I have not been to any, but when we were touring, we really wondered that.  I think Sunken Gardens itself would be fine in the rain, but the grassy area around the site, and the other sites with lots of grass would be an absolute disaster.  Poor grandma would be slipping everywhere I'd imagine.  It will be INCREDIBLY gorgeous if it's nice out, but we worried about rain too.

I am getting married in June at the Sunken Garden, and honestly, I'm just trying not to think about rain and just expect sunny weather.  If it rains, it does...oh well, it's still beautiful; and it will be a great day.  I looked at the Farmer's Almanac, and it is not supposed to rain.  Maybe try checking that out?

I just toured Lauxmont last week and the Sunken Gardens was one of my favorites until I started thinking about rain. Not only will your guests not see any of the beauty of the Sunken Gardens if it rains (because they will be inside the tent the whole time) but parking will also be a nightmare.

Three of Lauxmont's sites share one parking area which is on a grassy hill. I just envision vehicles getting stuck and everything being muddy.  The lady told me they shuttle people to and from the site location on golf carts (the uncovered kind) so now grandma is soaked by the time she gets to the Sunken Gardens and she still has to make it up and down all of those steps and down the mulched path to get to the tent all in the rain.

Also think about your bridal party! The guys get ready at that pool house thing at the top of the stairs at the Sunken Gardens while the girls get ready inside the house by the Cobblestone Courtyard. You and your BMs will get soaked if its raining and the guys have very little shelter if the rain is blowing.

I totally crossed it out after I saw the parking and that the tent was the only rain option.

I went to a wedding there last summer, and it poured for the entire ceremony. The area of the ceremony was surrounded by trees which helped a little with the rain, also most people knew about the weather so they brought umbrellas. Honestly, even though it rained the ceremony was still great and as soon as we got to the reception tent-thingy everyone dried off and forgot that it even rained in the first place!
