Where are all these extra charges coming from?!

We think we know how much things cost, until we get an invoice.  Champagne is not included in the bar package.  +$180.  The band needs to set up at an appropriate time.  +$150.  Oh?  A sound system for the ceremony, you say?  +$150.  The venue is just out of range for cake delivery.  +$50.  Buy dinner for the band. +$50.  Where the FRICK does it END?!

Re: Where are all these extra charges coming from?!

  • same problem!! mine added $600  to our bill!! idk where im getting that extra money!!!
  • and hence why i called the local news so they actually do a story on this kind of crap they we are all getting hit with. I paid 375 for seat covers when i paid my venue over 20K and i told them from the getgo the wedding was formal. how could they not include chair covers?????
225 for pressing my dress and a 3 pt. bustle (should have only cost me 30 bucks) the florist hit us up 150 bucks for delivery of our flowers ....since he has to come 2 times.
and our DJ charged us 100 bucks for an extra speaker because the venue speakers arent the best in the dining room.

So yea....once the dress thing happened i was on the phone with news 12.

<div>You're right.  It's insane.  It makes me sick how much a wedding costs.  My event corrdinator asked my permission to go ahead and order the champagne for the toasts, I asked for a cheaper option.  She said, well honestly, most people will toast with what they ahve in their glasses.  FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, if I knew that was the case, I wouldn't have bothered with the champagne in the first place- but it's too late because we already ordered all the damn flutes! So I said f*ck it, get the damn champagne.</div>

  • Champagne wasn't included for us either, and it would have cost us around $200. The my coordinator said "why not use sparkling wine? It will be the same cost as what's in the bar." So, we went with that and no one knew the difference. Who says you need champagne in your flutes?
  • Oh my. That's absurd. I am so glad we found a legitimate all inclusive venue - champagne is included with the bar, cake serving is included, etc. Plus the vendors are all in agreements with the venue so I don't have to worry about deliveries.
Good luck ladies - and I would fight a lot of those crap charges because that's what they are, CRAP!

<div>I just asked my venue director about this.  She listed all the wines that are included in the bar package, some whites and reds, nothing sparkling.  I ended up ordering the cheapest sparkling wine we could find.  It probably tastes like shite.</div>
