Shoes!!

Alright girls! My wedding is April 21st, and my first fitting is February 1st! and I cannot find the shoes I want ANYWHERE! The main problem...I am 5'9 and I only have about a 1/2" to play with in heel height (prefer flat) with my dress otherwise my dress will be to short! The second problem...I am looking for Kelly Green shoes.

Any ideas on where to look?

Re: Shoes!!

  • did you try zappos, 6pm, and DSW?  David's Bridal could dye their shoes kelly green.  there's also http://www.dyeableshoestore.com/ and they could dye  their shoes.

GL!  I had to return like, 6 pairs of shoes before I found what I wanted.
  • shoebuy.com and endless.com are 2 of my favorites, fast (1 or 2 day) shipping and free returns

  • I think dyables might be a good option for you.

If you have a Charlotte Russe, Charming Charlie, or Bakers near you, check them out. The ones in our malls generally have a wide range of colors and styles.

  • I got my shoes from dressy.com...they can dye them to either clover or moss.  Clover looks pretty Kelly green to me.  :)

  • Okay, while we're on the subject of shoes, I'm looking for shoes for my bridesmaids and I'm not sure what to do. I want to make it easy for them, and I'm glad to let them pick out whichever style they want, but I'm not sure what color to go with for them. Their dresses are Alfred Angelo Grape and our wedding colors are chocolate, eggplant and raspberry. Would it be weird to put them in black shoes? I just feel like it would make it easier for them to find shoes they like instead of making them get shoes dyed.

I don't think black would be a problem unless your groomsmen are in chocolate.
I think you could ask them to pick shoes in a certain color in a style they like, brown should be an easy color to find in multiple styles.  Are their dresses long or short?   My bm's dresses are tea length so it would bother me if the shoes didn't all match.  My girls got together on their own and all decided on the type of shoe they wanted so if you want them to match I bet you could always ask them to get together and try to settle on a style.

However if matching exactly doesn't bug you or if the dresses are full length, then yes I'd just let them pick a style they like.  That way hopefully they will find multiple uses for them after the wedding, since they've picked them themselves.
