Rehearsal Dinner Guest List

Who all are you inviting? Are you keeping it strictly wedding party and dates? Or are you including OOT people? If you're not including OOT people, are you including grandparents, etc, who are close to the family?

I REALLY hate rehearsal dinner stuff! grrrrrr.

i did WP, officiant, readers, and their dates and our parents. i couldn't extend it to OOT, because half our wedding was OOT, and it wasn't feasable to have all those people twice. i would have had our grandparents if they were around still or at least healthy....

WP and their SOs, family, cousin and aunt who are OOTs, officiant (friend of family really) and his wife, ushers.  Fortunately there's a fair amount of doubling up: MOH's DH is an usher and one of my BMs is the GF of one of FI's GMs.  I think in total we're anticipating 21 people for the RD (including ourselves).

I hate it too. I don't even want to do it, but FI is insisting.

We will be having both immediate sides of the family, grandparents, and the wedding party (w/o dates - unless the date is our immediate family).  We only have a few OOT guests, and they're not invited (they're from Sea anyways). Considering we will also invite my DOC and the Rev for dinner, that takes us up to 35-40 people.

We're inviting wedding party, family, officiant, photographers, coordinator, as well as a few people who are helping out a lot but aren't technically in the wedding party.

For the out of town guests who've arrived by then, I had this really crazy idea of buying vouchers to the Harry Potter screening at Lincoln Square that night (our RD night is the night the last Harry Potter movie premieres) and giving them that option. But I don't know if it will fit into our budget, or if people will really want to go to a movie after a long plane ride.

We are doing a welcome BBQ in lieu of a RD.  Ours would be too small and a little awkd for both the families. Fi's parents will host it and it will be a much better way to include all the OOT guest and whatnot.   Its gonna be at a park next to the beach and a lot more chill.

We are doing a casual BBQ, and invited WP & dates including readers and family members. Still comes to about 35 people. But it is way casual, outdoor BBQ (NOT at our house)  to decrease likelihood of stress. :)

Dreamwinds - save me from having to google - what night is the HP movie released?!?!?!?!! (And FYI, it's NOT the last movie, they split the last book into 2 movies so it's really just part 1)  I've seen EVERY HP movie on opening night and I'm determined if it kills me to finish out the series.

So far, we're not planning on having an RD at all. I forgot all about it when I was doing our budgeting so we have zip. zero. zilch room in an already tight budget for it. IF we do one, I'll probably decide the week of and it will be super-casual and would be WP, immediate family, anyone participating in wedding (like reader), and maybe a few OOT relatives that we're close to but never see.

I hate this too, because FI's parents are insisting on inviting THEIR OOT relatives, which will put us at 40 people.  I feel like it's really unfair that only their OOT people can come, but they are pretty cheap.  If I invite my OOT guests, we'll end up eating chips & salsa for dinner... =(

I think the RD guest list drive's everyone crazy.

We're inviting parents, WP , and godparents. Godparents are at party-throwers request. Meh.

No it is! It's the second part of the last movie and it's premiering (at least as of now) on July 15, 2011. :) I was just randomly looking up to see when the next Harry Potter movie is coming out and stared when I realized it was the day before our formal wedding.

The first part is coming out November 20 of this year. :)

This is the one thing that I've fought with my mom about; she wanted to invite all of the OOT relatives/friends, but that would have been pretty much the whole wedding. We are having parents, siblings, grandparents, WP and SOs, officiant (who is a family friend) and his wife, and have invited the church's wedding coordinator and the pianist (although I doubt they'll come). There's a lot of overlap (siblings in the WP, etc), so it comes out to about 23 people.
