Caterer

We are getting married in August at Linden Place.
Anybody have a great experience with a caterer?  We have heard Russel Morin and Blackstone are wonderful but were hoping for more suggestions.  We are foodies and it is one of the most important things for us!

We are using Plantation Caterers.  Wendy & Carol have serious passion for food!

I can't suggest anyone else, but I just want to put in another good word for Morin's. The food at their open house was AMAZING. They have so many creative options, stations, etc. And all the coordinators are very nice and get back to you very quickly. They act as a DOC and do all the set up and clean up for your venue.

We're getting married at Linden Place in about a month (wow!) and we are using Morins. The food was amazing and so is the service.

Morin's, Morin's, Morin's!!!! Our food was unbelievable!! I can't recommend them highly enough,

P.S. I went to a wedding this past weekend that was catered by Pranzi and the food was awful :( They ran out of apps, steak and vegetables! It was not good at all!

Blue Rocks is amazing.  They did my brother's engagement party and rehearsal dinner and they will be doing my wedding at Linden Place in June.  They get glowing reviews from all of the venues they work at, Linden Place included.

    jonnysbride2010 -- Good to know.
I really want to go to Morins but my parents wanted us to try out and price out a few other places. AT least three photographers said try Pranzi.

But, they are usually busiest durin cocktail hour-- so its good to hear your opinion

has anyone heard anything about pinelli mara/atomic catering?
  • edited December 2011
i2012do- I really didn't like any of the food Pranzi served and the wait staff was not very accomodating and they were definitely under staffed. I just can't get over that they ran out of food for dinner...I literally had butter and rolls for dinner...I would stay far away from Pranzi...

Johnnys-- thanks! i am going to stay away. I called blackstone yest. but still love Morins!

I went to a rehearsel dinner at a restaurant and they ran out of food. My friend and I split a caeser salad!! They were nto accomodating at all....

I bet the  bride still ended up paying for your dinner too!

HAMLOCK-- my friend used them and really liked them. She did a buffet and it was mostly italian style food, and a mashed potatoe bar etc.  This was two years ago, but from what I remember the food was good.

I spoke to Barry there- and his estimated was a few thousand less than other caterers for the same thing.

But, I can nto speak for thme because I did not have a sit down meal- so not sure how the service was---

I believe JLsImon is using them but im not sure.

I used Pinelli's for my wedding at the Towers in June. Overall, I think they did a good job.  I got a lot for my money. We had 6 passed hors dourves(hot and cold), stationary table with cheeses/vegetables/dips, plated meal and open bar all night for about $78/pp.  It's a good option if you don' t want to or can't pay for Morins.

I just attended a wedding where they used Tom's Market in Warren...it was awesome!!! The food was so good...the appetizers for cocktail hour and the stations...they had pasta, asian, and carving...were always full and everyone was going back for seconds and thirds...Hope this helps :-)
