Heyyy.! It's My Turn.!!! I can be longwinded sometimes. Sorry in advance. Lol.

1. First Name & Fiance's First Name:

LaSha' & Tristin (my name is pronounced LaShay..its La Sha on my birth certificate but I thought the space looked ridiculous, so I added an accent. I kinda like the space now though.)

I was born in Washington, DC.!

4. City Live in?

I live in Suitland, MD. About 20mins from downtown DC. Right across from DC's main Air Force Base. I get to see the President fly out alot.

5. Where did you go to college?

Well, I started off at Coppin State University in Baltimore, but I was all about the party life and that quickly failed. Lol. I then went to Community College, graduated, and now am transferring to The REAL HU, Howard University.

6. What was your major?

My two favorite things are to read and write, and animals. I started off an Accounting major cause I was trying to be like my mom. FAIL. Then it went to Sports Journalism because I'm a football junkie and I love love love to write. I'm upset that I failed that because I loved it, but I was young and drunk. Sad to say. Lol. So in Community College, I majored in Veterinary Technology and became a Veterinary Technician. Also got an A.A in Journalism. When transferring to Howard, I will be majoring in Journalism with a concentration in either Advertising or PR. Haven't really decided. And I also want to get a BS in Animal Science. But that comes from University of Maryland. I have alot of goals to reach. Lol.

7. What is your current job?

Currently, I am a veterinary technician. Its basically a nurse to the vets. We do all the hard work, but I love it. I work at a Humane Society, so we get alot of animal abuse cases and it gets hard sometimes to work on these animals, but its very rewarding in the end. We recently had a dog that somebody threw out of their car window, on the highway, at full speed. REALLY PEOPLE?!

8. What is your dream job?

I have 3 dream jobs. Lol. First, is to work for a wildlife foundation and become a sea turtle specialist. Weird, right.?? But I love sea turtles. FI and I picked a cruise for our honeymoon that goes to Barbados strickly so I can swim with them. And I just recently applied for a job at a DC wildlife foundation, so I really hope I get it. Second, I wanted to be a veterinary anatomical pathologist. It's basically the person that does the autopsies on the animals that have passed due to unknown circumstances. I know its gross. Don't judge. It's because of my job and we have to do alot of autopsies to determine animal deaths for the for the courts for animal abuse, and I'm fascinated with it. I failed human anatomy, but aced animal anatomy. That was God telling me what to do. Lol. I can't do that though, because vet school has become non-reachable at this moment. Third, I want to be a journalist. Either a magazine editor, or something that has to do with writing. I figure I can do one, an part time the other.

9. How did you and your fiance meet?

We met in high school. We had all the same friends, but never really spoke. Just hi and bye. Four years after I graduated, he found me on facebook and started talking sports with me. He knew what he was doing. Lol. A couple weeks later, I was at his house watching a game, he made me hotdogs, and everything blossomed from there.

10. When did you get engaged and how did he do it??

April 19, 2012. I was at work helping this older couple. It was ironic because they were telling me that they were married for 42yrs. The husband said it lasted that long by him nodding his head and saying 'Yes, Dear.' Lol. They were cute. So one of my co-workers comes to get me, and says my manager wants me. As soon as I walk to her, she covers my eyes and tells me to walk with her. When she let go, I opened my eyes, and the first ppl I saw were Tristin's best friends. I said hi to them, and looked over and saw him standing there with roses. Looking too yummy I might add. I was confused, because he had just left work, and should have been in his work uniform. Anyways, he gave me the flowers, said that he loved me, and couldn't imagine his life without me. After that, I blanked out. I have no idea what he said, I just saw him on one knee. I screamed yes, and then the tears started. It was great.

13. What are your wedding colors?

Red, Black, Ivory, and a touch of Silver.

14. Where are you honeymooning?

7Day Southern Caribbean Cruise, leaving from San Juan, going to St. Thomas, Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Kitts, and St. Maarten.

15. Favorite wedding vendor so far?

Wedding Planner. Even though me and her just started, she has taken so much stress off my shoulders. And not to mention she's doing my wedding FOR FREE. Can't beat that.!

16. Biggest wedding splurge?

The venue. It's all inclusive. Food, bar, cake, linens, tableware, pretty much everything. They also have decor packages. Next splurge, the dress. But FMIL got that out the way for me.

17. What is something you wish you could have at the wedding but don't?

A shot ice luge, and a martini ice luge. I also wish my mom was involved in the planning. As the older AAW knotties know, my mom isn't involved with the wedding at all, because FI's twin sister is his Best Woman, and she doesn't approve. So, she said she doesn't want to talk about the wedding, and even went as far as to say that she doesn't want to come. But, I talked to God, and he said she'll be there.

18. Another knottie wedding you'd like to attend?

Everybodies. I love all of your idea, and wish I could see then all fall into place. I have to shoutout a fellow May bride though, MsBDumas, I would love to see how the clutches for your girls and the all around color scheme work out in the end.

19. Favorite book?

It was Sleeping With Strangers by Eric Jerome Dickey. It has three parts. The second is Waking With Enemies, and Dying For Revenge. Sooooo good. But then, I read the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy, and I think that has EJD beat. Lol.

20. Favorite movie?

Pretty Woman. And I'm also a Twilight freak. Don't judge. Last year, FI and I were at the theater at midnight to see it. And will be doing the same this year. Lol.

21. Favorite tv show?

I have my guilty pleasures like Love and Hip Hop, TI and Tiny, Tamar and Vince. Then the wedding shows, David Tutera, Bridezillas, and I Do Over. Then my 'healthy' shows like Dr. Oz.

22. Favorite wedding dress designer?

Pnina Tornai. OMG. If I could afford her, yall. Her dresses are just beyond. I could just die. Lol. My dress is a Vera Wang, though. So, I'll go with her.

23. Any advice you can give?

From my wedding planning experience, I would definitely say DO NOT LET ANYBODY TRY TO MAKE YOUR WEDDING THEIR OWN. I have alot of ppl giving me their opinions whether its about FI's best woman, my bridesmaids wearing different dresses, or my wedding on a Friday, or anything. My SIL said I needed to grow a backbone because I was taking everybodies feelings into consideration, and it was just giving me headaches. I have learned to speak up a little bit, and I am making this wedding what FI and I want. Not what everybody else wants it to be. I have to remember that I am marrying my best friend and the love of my life, and in the end, that's what matters.

24. Anything you wish you could change about your wedding?

The guest list. The budget. Lol. We would definitely have invited more people, but budget wouldn't allow it. We capped it at 100.

25. Share something about yourself!

The thing I am most proud about is being a mom. I have two beautiful children, ages 3 and 5. I started early, and they have taught me to grow up in so many ways. Alot of ppl were against me having them. I was 18 and 20. It was very hard, but I got it together quickly. My daughter 'graduated' Pre-K and is nw in Kindergarten, and she is sooo intelligent, and she teaches her little brother everything. I can't imagine life without them. Their dad is a SOB, sorry to say, but my FI has stepped up in a way I could never have dreamed. He has taken the role as 'daddy' and these kids are always number one to him. He lives for his family, and for that reason, I love him beyond words. My children respect him. My daughter knows their dad, but my son does not and FI has respected it and helped me raise these kids in a way that nobody could ever have. He is a MAN. And I love him. I can't wait to be his wife.

Sha...I just love your story.. and the thing that's funny is the whole time I am reading your story.. I am thinking about my daughter..(no I am not that old).. but my daughter is 20.. and she is soooooo GREAT with animals.. I just dont think she has realized it yet. I know that that is what would be her profession.. She has passion for animals just like you!!! SO THAT TELLS ME HOW GREAT OF A HEART YOU HAVE!!!

I love the engagement story.. Very special and it shows he loves you and doesnt care who knows or sees..

Cha - Thanks.! And girl, yes, I asked FI did he steal the proposal from a movie or something, cause it was so surreal. No, Ma still has not come around. I'm trying to get addresses together now, and I'm kinda scared to ask her for them. Only because whenever I try to sneak wedding into the conversation, she changes the subject or makes one of those faces where you just want to say 'never mind, forget it.' And yess definitely tell me about the honeymoon. I've been looking forward to yours. Living my honeymoon vicariously through yours. Lol

Marionne - Yea girl, the secret. Lol. I love my dress, too.! Tell your daughter if she has the passion for it to definitely go for it. If she lives in Baltimore with you, tell her Community College of Baltimore County has a GREAT vet tech program. Two years. In and out. It's really an awesome profession. I try not to rush my career, but you know, I'm just looking out for my little ones and trying to be the best I can for them. I do not miind if you pop up girl. You can get a plate.!

She doesn't realize that is her passion.. She actually went to St John's Univ in NY for the past two years.. BUT it's sooo expensive.. so she is down here now taking classes at the community college and then transferring to a college that cost a bit less than 55 a year.

I learned to just build a bridge and if she chooses to not come then that's something that we will have to work out together AFTER my honeymoon. Toi - Thanks girl. FI and I are a funny couple. Life is better when you laugh. Live, Love, Laugh is probably the best quote ever. My mom is the type of person to mope around when she doesn't get her way and get over it at the very last minute. So, hopefully she changes her mind last minute and shows. I would be happy. But we'll see.

Tash - Glad I could make you laugh, girl. Makes me feel good when I can make people smile.! This --- /> 'we are so similar except you're younger, skinnier, and a sucker for hotdogs. lol' made me die laughing. Lol. I am a sucker for a good hotdog. And girl, he made me two.! And a bag of my favorite chips. Oh yea.! He told me he was cooking me dinner, I knew then that I wasn't gonna get much outta him in the kitchen. He surprised me though. Baby makes a GOOD breakfast. I told him he need to be barefoot and in the kitchen every morning making me some breakfast sandwiches. Lol. I'm all for you taking me under your wing, girl. I need somebody.! And yes, THREE thumbs up for FI. Gotta love that man.

TL - Yeaa, I'm kinda in love with my job. Lol. Believe me, I've been working with animals for a long time. I've met a bunch of anti-animal ppl girl. I still love ya.! FI always wanted a son. I agreed to having one more baby for him to have one of his own, but once our relationship got more serious, and we moved in, he forgot that he wanted another one. Lol. Money becomes tighter when yo add another baby. My son sees FI as his dad, and FI said that alone satisfies him. We have a boy and a girl, we're a family, and FI said we don't have to. I asked him a million and two times. I told him he has until I'm 29. If I'm not plus one more baby by then, these tubes are getting cut, snipped, burned, thrown out honey. Lol.

Welcome Sha! Glad to know some stuff about you.....and we have A LOT in common!

I'm not from DC but I did graduate from the Real HU.....HOWARD HOWARD UUUUUUUUUU.......THE REAL HU! I was involved in a lot on campus and still have a lot of connections so let me know if you need anything.

Secondly, journalism....I am there with you! I finished from the School of B but I was the Asst. Business Mgr for the Hilltop and that is when I was introduced to journalism and publishing realzied I love it and now moving to start a non profit with that being a program.

I love the story about you being a mom and your FI really stepping up. That is just like me. I had my son right after I finished Howard....literally. I finished in August he was born in December. His dad SUX! He lives in the District, but FI and I met when he was 2 months old and now he will be 6 in December. God has his own plan of working it all out for our good.

Maybe when I come visit next summer for Delta Centennial we can link up! (Maybe Cha will be around too.....)

Their dad is a SOB, sorry to say, but my FI has stepped up in a way that I could never have dreamed. He has taken the role as 'daddy' and these kids ae always number one to him. He lives for his family and for that reason, I love him beyond words. My children respect him. My daughter knows her dad, but my son does not and FI has respected it and helped me raise these kids in a way that nobody could ever have. he is A MAN. And I love him. I can't wait to be his wife.

This is AWESOME! I know that it is hard to become a parent at a young age but you appear to have done an awesome job!! FI gets a SLOW STANDING O for the awesome shoes he has filled!! God always knows what he is doing!

Mrs Smith - I'm soooooo excited about Howard.! I'll definitely let you know if I need anything. I like publishing too, and its so many opportunites in the journalism field, I have no idea which way I want to go. Hopefully school will help me with that.! I like copyediting, too. I don't know. I like alot.! Lol. Yea, I love my kids and I thank God everyday for bringing FI to me. He hooked me up.! Lol. Yes, definitely make sure you let me know when you come up. I definitely have time for you and Cha.!

MissusD - Yea, I have definitely been through more than the average 23yr old, but I am grateful for everything that has happened. I am definitely wiser in some aspects and realize that I still have alot to learn. I am definitely being patient with my career. He has a plan. I know.

Casey - Yes, I can never stress enough how hard it was to have my babies so young. I'm proud of the person they have helped me become. FI was definitely my knight in shining armor. He still is. Glad I could make you laugh.! I love to laugh, try to find the humor in some things and it makes me feel better. And yes, a sucker for hot dogs, throw some baked beans in and mix it up, and GIRL I'll love you forever.! Lol.
