Gift, from Bride to the Groom

My fiancée and I have decided to exchange gifts on our wedding day.  We settled on a watch for him and some kind of jewelry for me...so we can both wear our gifts in the actual wedding ceremony.  I was just wondering if anyone else has done the exchanging of gifts, and to leave a few examples.  All I could find on the internet was cuff links for the groom and diamonds for the bride... but I'm sure people are a bit more creative than that!

Re: Gift, from Bride to the Groom

  • Wedding gifts are a traditional thing, and many couples opt not to do them to save money.  We went back and forth for a while on what to get eachother, but picked them out together.  We are really bad at surprises and always have been.  H got me a pair of diamond earrings that match a ring he had given me before, and I got him a watch and also a men's jewelry box.  I gave him his gifts the night before, and he had his brother drop mine off to me when they dropped off our sub trays.  H wore his bracelet for the wedding but I didn't wear my earrings because I already had a set picked out.

Other ideas I've seen people do on here are things like tickets to a sporting event, surprise excursion on the honeymoon, or other things.  It doesn't have to be something for the wedding.

  • I don't know what my FH is getting from me, but I bought him a gold pocket watch.  I found it while wandering an antique store and it's perfect for him - he teaches Greek and Latin and the watch as Artemis shooting an arrow on the cover.  Perfect.  It's been in the shop for 2 months, apparently the parts are hard to find, but worse case scenario it's decorative and not functional.

I'm really looking forward to giving it to me (even though he's seen it before).
