Archivers for Invites?

Has anyone shopped Archivers at Easton for invitiations, etc?  A friend suggested it but wasn't sure about the prices.  I don't mind diy and I'm on a limited budget...any info would be great.

in my experience doing invites there for bridal showers, they are quite expensive. perhaps others have different views though. most of us around here love vistaprint because they have great templates or you can upload your own and the prices are great.

I initially tried to go that route, but after looking at my finances, my creative talents or lack there of lol , my family members and bridesmaids creative talents, I opted out. My intention was to save money, but after sitting down and punching out the numbers and the amount of time and stress involved, I knew I had enough stuff on my plate and not enough money. I decided to find an invitation business that would create and design for all the invitations and order all the stationary, yet still allow me to assemble the invitations and what not. This was at first difficult since so many wedding businesses tend to say "my way or the highway", or at least I've found that. I ran into a couple of walls financially....meaning one place in particular would run me $1,600 for 120 invitations.....not even counting programs, thank you's, table cards, place cards, etc.!!!! Yeah, no thanks! Goodness! Anyway...that being said, my resourceful and wonderful wedding planner, Sabrina with Joie de Vivre Events, LLC spoke with Sarah from You're Invited and she was willing to help me out as much as possible in order to save me money, time, stress, and everything else 'fun' in the wedding planning process. :) RELIEF. We're in the process of ordering everything now, but I can tell you that it's totally worth getting someone, especially someone as flexible and incredibly talented and dedicated to her profession as Sarah is from You're Invited. I received great referrals from a couple of friends of mine too, which is great! Even before booking with her, she put together a comprehensive several page document outlining specifics about printing costs vs. us printing (based on what I told her we would do...not her own estimates), her assembling vs. my mother, myself, and bridesmaids assembling, etc. She had to start from scratch. I was ready to book her just because she listened during our consult and took the time (at least 3-4 hours worth) to put together an incredibly detailed document to help me better understand my options. We're paying around $450-$500 now for everything (place cards, programs, seating board, invitations, thank you's, and 1-2 other things....I forget....!). This is under the amount of money we would have spent at Archivers (even with the 30% off coupons....I had been saving them for a while...lol). Yet, another relief. Money saved!!! Well at least until we book a photobooth..... lol :(

I can't say this enough..... I would HIGHLY recommend 'You're Invited' for invitations. Sarah has done a marvelous job so far, and we're really looking forward to receiving everything here in the next few weeks and sending everything out. PM me if you have an questions! Hope this helped!

I'm also using Sarah from "You're Invited" - I initially thought custom = expensive but that does not have to be true at all.  She had a pretty wide range of prices for invites so that was great for me!

I have spent SO much money over the years at Archivers for scrapbooking materials.  The PPs are right--it can be quite expensive!  We had a graphic designer friend design our paper products and had them printed at Monk's Printing downtown.  (Side note- they people there are SOOO nice!  They don't have a lot of fancy elements like raised lettering, but we were okay with that.)  For 230 STDs (postcards) and 230 invitations, it cost us us about $175!  Our invitations are not traditional, but I love them!

I have a problem with Archivers, just because they told me that there is someone there that can have a free consultation for bridal invitations, to help with the design and what you need, I went to the store twice and gave my information and I have called 2 times and they never got back to me so I gave up.

I plan on doing my own invitations but I will probably just buy the paper online or at michaels or joanns and then decorate it will stamps and emblishments. But I plan on only spending around 75 dollar for 100 invitations (without postage)

I am using Archivers but I am trying to be careful about buying my supplies there.  I signed up for their coupons and am buying the invitation supplies over time when I get the 30% off coupons.  It sounds like a pain (and it kind of is) but we need quite a few invites.

We got a lot of our invitation stuff at archivers. Ours were very detailed and time consuming so I'm sure we saved money than if we ordered them online or through a invitation company. We made pocket invitations with letterpress on the outside as well as on the actual invitation, a small flower cutout with a rinestone on the pocket...all which would have increased the price significantly through anyone else. A few things that helped save money: 30% coupons from Archivers, we used 40% off coupons from Michael's, I printed everything at work (one of the few nice things my boss has done!). Depending on how custom you want your inviations and what kind of invitation you are looking for it may or may not save you money. Do some research and add it all up. We had almost a 2 year engagement so I had plenty of time to design and make exactly want I wanted.
