It's finally done...Sephora Xmas

Blows.

Started off with $20 in store.
Then went to have to spend $40 to get full $20 off.
I just got my VIB invite from Xmas...it's just 20% off.

WTF.  Who cares, that's not enough to get me in there on that day, free tote of stuff or not.

ETA: had number wrong

  • Yes, they've changed the whole thing.  They used to have a F&F sale and then another VIB sale. Now  Not so much.

  • Surely they're going to get more complaints that just mine (I really did just send off an e-mail, WTF is the point of even being a VIB if not for the good swag/Xmas deal).

    *stropping*
  • Oh.  The F&F deal used to be unlimited use of a code...for 20% off.  This year...each employee got 5 physical cards, and you could only access them that way.  You'd better believe people were PISSED.

And I didn't get a VIB code.  Don't care much either.

  • Well, we're finally getting an Ulta.  I suspect I will be perusing there more often now.  Especially since the Ulta isn't in the mall, YAY for not going to the mall!
  • I prefer Sephora, BUT and BIG BUT I don't think they're customer service has really kept up with their expansions.  AND with the greal deals other vendors offer...I will pass.  Beauty.com always has deals.

  • You know the last couple times I've been in Sephora I've really disliked the service. I don't shop at a physical location often, as normally I just buy what I need online. But I've wanted some specific recommendations and they used to have staff that were really knowledgeable about what they sold. And the last few times it was just so hard- they wanted me to basically tell them every single thing I wanted in a product and then they'd make their recommendation. Well if I knew, I wouldn't bother coming here and asking you. I'd find it on the website.

And the quality of the Sephora Brand products isnt' as good. I bought a few of their eyeliners and they suck. I'm literally carving my eyelids apart getting those things to make a line. I'd rather spend $9 on Loreal than that crap.
  • I've had really great and really bad service there, so I've always just chalked it up to finding the right person to help me.

The Sephora Brand itself has been hit or miss for me.  I like the Velvet Rouge lipstick: it's saturated and goes on soft, w/out wearing off really badly and isn't as expensive.  And I've bought their blush, just b/c it's just blush, y'know?  I wasn't a fan of their eyeliners either, PMeg, I thought the same thing.
  • It makes me sad to know that I missed out on SUPER awesome deals in years past...this is my first year being a VIB and now I feel ripped off.

I might still use the 20% promotion to get a couple of gifts for people though.
