Outdoor Wedding on Forest Land

Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone on here has any experience with planning a wedding on US Forest Service Land in Colorado. We understand we will be needing a tent and generators to make the whole ceremony/reception work. But we are more wondering what hurdles if any are there with obtaining a permit?

Also, its very important to us that we are in a remote place so we wont have to worry about sharing our special day with strangers. Any experiences or tips anyone has regarding this are much appreciated.

We havent found the piece of land yet, but are hoping the knot community can shine some light on whether or not it is even feasible.

Thanks you!

I don't know if this will help.  A couple of weekends ago my husband and I were touring around Rocky Mountain National Park.  We saw one ceremony happening at Sprague Lake, then about an hour later saw a ceremony going on at Moraine Park.  At MP, we saw a van with "Marry Me in Colorado" on the side of it, so because my daughter is starting to plan her wedding,  I googled it when I got home.  It looks like they do a lot of remote mountain ceremonies.  You might check them out.

If you poke around Rocky Mountain National Park's website, you can find info about weddings in the park, but they have a lot of restrictions. You could probably call a rangers station or park office to ask about permits and such. My FI and I are getting married outdoors in Divide at a venue called Lorien Dell. It's secluded in an aspen/spruce forest, and the owners George & Lynn are great to work with. You can check out photos on their website if that sounds like a place you might be interested in. http://loriendell.com/page0001wedding.html
