Decorating Help! Hiding Object at Reception Venue

Some friends are getting married and the reception venue has just added an airplane model on a high wall that they will not take down for the wedding.  It's about 6.5 x 6.5.  Any ideas on how to hide the object for the wedding?  Has anyone else had to mask parts of their reception venue?

    Is there any way to drape pretty cloth over it?

    How much will it *really* show up in pictures? Is it worth the extra cost/trouble?

    I would need to see a picture, but in my experience  trying to cover up something sometimes actually ends up drawing more attention to the object.








    What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

    I assume you mean inches because 6.5x6.5 FEET would be huge, there's no way anyone could hide that. If it is inches, don't worry about it. I mean it's roughly the size of half a sheet of computer paper.

    I think it probably is 6.5 feet if they are worried about hiding it.  

    OP- are they getting any type of lighting brought in from their DJ or anyone?  Maybe they could position a light pole a few feet in front of where it's hanging, and then try to keep the area around the plane dark.  You know how when you look at a light in the dark you can't see anything but the light?  That's the idea I'm thinking.

    Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
