i hope this isn't too nosy, but what are you all paying for your bar packages?  i'm feeling a bit like we're being price gouged and i want to be fully informed before i confront the venue.  
we're paying $30/person for four hours of beer, wine, and soda.  we originally had the impression that it would be for the restaurent's entire selection, but we were just sent an updated contract that stipulates the venue will choose "a selection of domestic and import beer, house white, and house red."
this seems really expensive considering we have no options!

    We do not have the option for a per person charge for bppze. We have to pay per mixed drink, keg or wine bottle.

    We haven't picked our exact package yet, but yours does sound expensive.  At our venue, four hours of wine/beer/soda is like $18 per person, and then they go up to complete open bar for 5 hours for $40 per person.  The $30 package is beer, wine, soda, and call/rail cocktails for 5 hours.

    Our venue doesn't list their open bar packages but the dinner package we have includes unlimited beer and soda plus also wine/champagne for the bridal party and up to four family tables. We also get a fountain with alcohol included during cocktail hour and hors d'oeurves for the one hour.

    Its included in the price of our dinner - we get 6 hours of bar, beer wine and soda for $13 a person which is a real steal of deal. Its the only good thing that has come from our venue this far I feel like:)

    That seems really high to me if it does not include any selection of hard liquour.  I would verify that part and consider trying to negotiate in that you'd rather pay a set price per beer barrel tapped, wine bottle opened, etc. 

    We're paying $1/soda & something like $180/half barrel of beer tapped (no wine).  Venue is in New Berlin.
