Alterations poll

I'm wondering how many of you shopped around to get quotes (and if that's even done!) for alterations or if you just did them at the bridal shop. I just need a hem and maybe a bustle and I'm so used to getting comparison quotes for everything else, haha.

I used the seamstress that Cinderella's has on hand and she was amazing!  She had to take in quite a bit, shorten the length, work on my veil (that is another story) and do the bustle, it is amazing!

I'm using the bridal salon and really feel like the cost is out of control.  Oh well!  Needs to get done and they will keep the dress and press it before the wedding.

I took my dress to Suenos in Greenville (it'soff rt 44).  A friends had hers done there.  I kinda feel like the price is high but there is a lot of detail in my dress and it is my wedding so....  The woman who runs it is very nice.

Ana at Ana's Bridal did my alterations.

I'm a size 8-10 and my dress was ordered in a 16 and was gigantic on me. They could've made a new dress what they took off of mine.

I bought my dress there and one of the reasons i did was for free alterations. it probably saved me a ton of cash in the long run

I used Rose and all I had done was a bit of hemming (no beading), and she made the armholes a bit bigger.  I think it was $135 when all was said and done.  I chose her b/c of her personality though.  I wanted to feel comfortable enough to speak up and say, "I don't like this" if I needed to.  The alterations person where I bought by dress was a little harsher and was telling ME what she'd do to the dress.  I asked about making the armholes bigger and she tried to talk me out of it.  Um my arm chub didn't fit in the dress.  They NEEDED to be bigger!!

I also used Sueno.  I bought my dress there so it was easier.  She had my dress fitting me like a glove.
