Dress update (barely)

Well, I called my contact yesterday about the Marchesa gown.  She was on vacation last week (lucky her!) and was still catching up on everything.

She mentioned something about Marchesa sending an email saying something about 2 weeks.  I asked if that was the same email she forwarded to me where they said 2-3 weeks it should be completed, which it was, so I made sure to point out that last week was the the 3rd week!

Apparently, the dress is supposed to be shipped to me god knows when.

Meanwhile, I was smart and took my original gown to the seamstress on Friday, it will be ready for me to pick it up on June 29th!  I'm so glad that I kept my original dress and didn't do anything stupid, or I'd REALLY be stressed out and being all Bridezilla on people!

  • Ugh that must be frustrating. I wonder if you'll ever get your dress!

  • If I were in your situation, I'd probably keep pestering her for a specific date.  Having one person think I'm a bridezilla might not be so bad in that case.

But that was smart of you to keep the other dress and take it to be altered!
  • How dumb is that to award someone a dress for their wedding and then neglect to get it to them in time so it can be worn at their wedding... that is a pile of hooey if you ask me. Good on ya for keeping your first dress.

  • Thats so frustrating to hear. I'm glad that you kept your original dress. I would definitely be calling every day to get an update on your dress.

  • So she still didn't get you an ETA??? Uhhhh you are not a bridezilla for pestering her. Keep at it until you get answers!

Sorry, I know this must be frustrating!

Yeah I'm totally with leverett! Why bother giving awards you really don't want to work on?? How disappointing it must be to win something amazing and get treated like crap! I'm sorry meggles! I also agree you should keep bugging for a ship date. At this point I'd hope they'd think I was a bridezilla hahaha! Anyway, no matter which dress you wear, you WILL look gorgeous on your wedding day! Hugs girly!
  • So, I just sent her a follow up email (trying to be persistent!)  and got an out of office reply!!!  WTF!!!!

here is what I said, in my email... I may have told a little black lie towards the end... lol

Have you heard anything back?  I'm really nervous that I won't have the gown in time.  At this point, my wedding is just over 3 weeks away and I'm extremely concerned about having any needed alterations completed in this short time frame.  I have been very patient throughout process, and I'm now getting very frustrated.  I have an appointment with a local bridal shop this evening in hopes to find a backup gown that I can buy off the rack.
Anything you can do to expedite this would be much appreciated.
    Thank you,
