Illinois-Chicago

slipping into a slight RSVP depression...

It is ONLY slight....
but I'm a little sad about the number of people coming. We invited 229 and so far we have about 130 and the RSVP due date was today. Even with the most optimistic numbers (because we know some people aren't coming but just haven't RSVP'd) we're looking at 150.
I guess this is good for our pocketbook but it still makes me a little sad. Frown
I should have expected it though, only a few friends are actually in Chicago, everyone else is out of state and it's on a Friday (which I know is a reason for no's).

I just didn't expect to feel sad, I thought I would be happy that we would save money!

I totally feel you.  We invited 372 people and out of that only 240 are coming.  I am stressing big time about the room looking empty.  My mom did cheer me up by saying there are still going to be so many people and we are going to be so busy that I won't even notice who is not there.

i'm right there with you!!! we invited 220 and so far have like 100 confirmed to attend (and our RSVP due date was a week ago)

my feelings have really been hurt b/c alot of my relatives from out of town are not coming, even though they've been telling me throughout my engagement that they were so excited to come to my wedding etc.

AND we're on the hook with the caterer for 160 guests, so now we're scrambling and sending out last minute invitations which i think makes us looks like jerks. it's seriously bumming me out!Cry
