Shady Wagon Farm Wedding Reviews or Thoughts?

Hi Everyone-

I just wanted to see if any of brides out there have had their wedding and reception at Shady Wagon Farm in New Hill, NC and wanted to get your thoughts of overall value and also the overall experience. SWF is my top choice, but I have been unable to locate a lot of reviews on here from brides and etc.

Also, I know the rental fee might be a little pricey, but you can pick your vendors from the preferred list and you can also bring in your own alcohol, which I am thinking should save some money. Did you guys think overall the price you paid for the wedding was pretty reasonable considering a high rental fee, but with the ability to choose vendors and bring your own alcohol?

Thanks if any of you out there have any input to offer! I'd love what you have to say about SWF.

    Don't use them in the summer.  My husband has catered some events out there in the summer and it seems like every time the a/c breaks halfway through the event and people start to cook in the heat lol.

    I was a Dj for a wedding out there in April and it was lovely.  In fact, it was the night of the Tornado in Raleigh and the wedding ceremony was at 6pm.  When I arrived, the "barn" was flooded and the power was out.  The staff worked tirelessly to blow out the water.  The power came back on and the sun came out and they were able to have their ceremony as planned, and by the time they came in for the reception, you never would know that the place had been 3" under water only 2 hours ago!!  I would definitely recommend it - I thought it was really pretty.

    I have attended fundraisers and other weddings out there and have not had that experience. Is this caterer on the preferred vendors list?

    I am also getting married at Shady Wagon Farm. SWF has several great reviews online, as well as many photos posted by other vendors, photographers, and brides.
